Does varying the type of bone or hide when making a wire trap increase it's effectiveness, or are they all the same?

Differing hides and bones can effect different portions of any crafted item, particularly if it's an item you can experiment with when at a public crafting station. You will see differences in the two fields displayed during the crafting process, I can't remember their names right now, though.

there are really only 2 types of bone: animal and avian - which kind may make some difference, but the creature doesn't really matter much, since they stack according to type.

the kind of hide you use does make some difference, though, some types are better than others for certain things. Which is actually best for a given item I couldn't tell you yet. In beta for a long time, the bone and hide was separate per creature, so you could have leathery hide from a kaadu or leathery hide from a vrelt - now leathery hide is simply leathery hide, the source creature doesn't matter.

Also Different planets have different Avian and animal bones, I hunt on Naboo and Rori and the two planets have different bones that will not stack. I also found the Rori Bones are a little better.

Exactly right EmeraldViper. Examine your stacks of bone and hide and look at the quality indication. The higher the number the better the material, the better will be the products that are produced with it.
