I was wouded pretty badly and took some time off from killing, and did some surveying and set up a camp to heal action and mind faster while I mined. As I suveryed and mined it ended up taking a while ~30 minutes to mine all that I wanted but afterwards I noticed that I had healed my wounds. So I am guessing that sitting in a camp can heal your wounds without a healer. In the meantime I got camping and surveying xp and a potload of steel.

Yep - it does heal wounds. It takes about 6.5 minutes RT to heal wounds with a basic camp.
