I've sold a couple camp kits through the bazaar. Just curious -- is there any XP bonus when they get used, like for a crafter?

Negative. The only way you recieve survival XP from a camping kit is when you set it up in the wild and hang out within its parameters. Having more people in your camps increases the XP.
