Thread: Bug or normal?
I have noticed anytime I use a trap that does damage to a pool and am solo it "steals" weapon experience. So if i bone spur for half the pool and then headshot a mob dead I get half of the rifle exp. Seems like I'd be better off just 2 shotting blues and toss in a debuff trap than bothering with a white where i get the same or less rifle exp and a tad bit more trap exp.
So is this how its supposed to work?
My initial reaction would be yes. Since you are firing your weapon less times, you're losing opportunities to get xp with your weapon.
Your two scenarios are kinda different. One is a 2 round fight (trap, headshot) and the other is 3 (two shots and a debuff) so in the 2nd scneario, you'd have an extra round to gain more types and amounts of xp.

Ya I kinda figured you should lose the weap exp, but though it was more a bug that the dmg the trap does becomes un accounted for and is essentially "lost".
Even in a group you get the same exp no matter how hard the trap hits, but the people lose out on the exp from the damage your trap"stole".
It seems that you should be given the amount of weap exp that is done by the trap as trapping exp.
As an example just picking numbers, rifle does 200 dmg, trap does 100, mob has 600 mind pool.
You can A: Shoot 3 times, throw a debuff = 200 weap exp 90 trap exp

Bleh, any way to edit posts here? ![]()
Anyway ignore the example stuff, pointless without real game data to look at.
