Now I learnt the novice scout proffession for some of it's features. It's an extra proffesion since my main is marksmen. Now I am a novice scout, however I'm having trouble harvesting.

First thing is, do I have to be the last one to hit the creature to get the bone? That seems to be the only way it works while hunting with groups. In many cases I can't harvest from them. Also, the harder the animal, do I need to be higher up to harvest them? If no to all of these questions, then it's a definite bug. I went on these hunting groups for bone and hide to build my armor, but I've only succesfully harvested bone ONCE! It's really frustrating.

Whenever I try to harvest it says I can harvest from it in that current state. I'm right on top of it and have it targeted, and I'm a novice scout...so why can't I harvest it!?!

I believe the message you are referring to says that "You can't havest in YOUR current state" or something to that effect. It is because you are still in attack mode on another creature. Wait until you are not in attack mode then try it.

More than likely someone else in the group is a Master Ninjalooter and grabbed the harvested items first.

Rules for harvesting:

1.You cannot be in combat.

2. You must be standing.

3. You have to be close to the corpse.

4. You cannot be swimming.

As long as you are grouped with the others you should be able to harvest the corpses. If you are not grouped I think it only allows the person who started the fight to harvest.

I think Monkeypantz is right. I wasn't being attacked, I WAS standing, I was right on the body, and I wasn't swimming. I think some of the guys in hunting kept going from body to body taking the bone. Thanks. Now I can get mad at this guy.

I know you can harvest while kneeling because I usually end the fight in the kneeling position and harvest the corpse when it dies.
