Thread: What is the most effectiant way to camp?
Enix
I usually camp after a fight or two, or even a particularly bad single fight. Pretty much whenever needed I guess. Sometimes I just set up a camp knowing it won't last very long and I make it just to get exp while I'm making more traps or another camp. If I'm only a couple of minutes into it, I disband the camp and take a lousy 40 or 60 exp for the camp.
If I was really hurt, or just chatting and enough time had passed to get me close to the 5 or 6 minute mark, I'd leave the camp up until I would get the wound healing that is associated with the camp. It heals about 10 wound every 5 to 6 minutes (not sure of the exact time). I noticed that when I disbanded the camp after this, my experience would be more like 180ish which is kinda nice. Plus having the wound healing doesn't hurt either.
This is based purely from a soloer's perspective. I have no idea what kind of advantage or tricks there are with groups. I know that even is someone happens to come into or run through your camp, you also get a nice little bonus.
Once when I was hurt very badly, I left my camp up for 45 minutes and got 4 or 500xp, but I certainly don't recommend this. It's far from efficient.

Camping from 15-20 minutes usuually gets you the max for your type of camp. Say 30 minutes heals about 50 points in all wound categories and generates about 440xp.
I have only had one person share my camp for a short time but did not notice a difference. Of course I dont keep spreadsheet of numbers but I would expect the xp generated to be higher.
Here is how to do it. Take a mission or 2 and do them. You will have wounds. After you finish the missions, take up surveying. Use the mineral, chemical survey tool (might have to ask artisan to provide them) and then find a high concentration of minerals. Goto that spot and then make camp and sample (mining). Do this for 30 min. Sample, sit sample sit. You will get resources to sell or make stuff with. After 30 min then disband camp. You get mega xp for it.
Build mulit camps as soon as you can b/c you can get more points for it. The more people who visit your camp, the more wounds that are healed, the more and faster xp you can get.
Ex - 100 wounds healed for 1 person at 30 min = fullXP
- 20 woundpoints for 5 people for 10 min = full XP
Give it a shot.
In my own experience as a soloer I get about 400 to 450 XP if I leave the camp up for at least 10 minutes and healing myself. I take these 10 minutes to craft myself some traps after I'm out, and craft one or two more camps since I just used one.
Mind you, this is with the basic camp asI haven't gotten Survival II yet.
Wow only 400 and 450 xp. guys i'm frequenlty pulling 600 and 800 xp per camping expidition when i have 1 other player with me. There are two of us who work like a team and we hunt form time to time. during the time whil i wait for my wounds to recover and or we heal one another with stimpacs etc we spend the time making items and as soon as we are ready we move on. i have found that every time i break camp i have either 600 or 800 xp gained.
something to consider perhaps?
try not going solo.
Anytime I am going to be staying in one spot for more than a minute or 2 (healing, crafting, foraging etc.) I make a camp. When I know I have some things to do around the house (phone, lunch etc.) I create a camp and check the computer periodically. It also helps to log out of the game 1k m from the nearest town so you are able to make a new camp at the drop of a hat.
I have never gone over 20 minutes, but have gotten as high as 680 exp points. The longer you stay the higher the points. The more wounds you heal the more points you get, the more people the more exp points you get. I got the 680 with the original camp kit the scout starts with. I am now using the multi camp and expect to eventually under the right circumstance get much higher exp points. Do not "leave" camp, do not start fighting or your exp points will end and if you fight or wander to far you will get the message "you have abandoned your camp".
