Just starting out here...and i was wondering if someone could give me a helping hand.

Whats the Best Animals to kill to harvest Bone and Hide from for Armor and other things?

Quantity is dictated by your Hunting skill, not the mob. You'll get more and more from everyanimalas your skill improves.

As to quality when making armor - just examine the material you're harvesting. The higher the overall quality (and for some stuff malleability and toughness count for more) the better. If one type of animal drops higher quality bone than hide, stick to harvesting just bones from all the mobs you kill of that variety. (or vice versa)

It can't be just Hunting level alone, I get more stuff off larger creaters like Torturs than I do say, Paralopes.

Any blue that you can consistantly get down with a signal 'special move' attack is best for harvesting. Especially the ones that don't pack. I really like velts myself, but they are on Corellia and Talus, only, I believe.

My experience hunting on Corellia is that some creatures are particularly vulnerable to attacks on their mind pools. Using a CDEF Rifle and Headshot 1 I can fire two Headshots from the prone at 50m, go to the kneeling to throw a Bone Spur trap and the health pools on white Durni's and Paralope's are essentially gone. Just need one more shot to finish them off (a trap wil never kill a creature but will take it down to only one point left in a given pool).

Using this method I can quickly kill those types of creatures without taking a single hit while others that aren't vulnerable to this type of attack will beat the stuffings out of me requiring an extended period of healing.

These creatures are both mammal looking (yielding wooly hides and generic bone) while most of the lizard types seem to be resistant to this kind of attack so maybe look around on your home planets and experiment to see which creatures are easiest to kill then concentrate on them.

On Corellia Vrelts are good. They give Wooly Hides, which are higher quality, and can be sold for more on the bazaar. They also give 7-9 per harvest, which is pretty good. Try a bunch of different creatures and find which give the highest quality of hides/bones, and then stick with those.

Currently, Rasps (Crescent and Sickle) and Capper Spineflaps on Rori. They all go down from (roughly) two hits of BodyShot2, and the Sickles are white so they give me decent XP. As well, it seems that one Bone Spur or Noisemaker will wipe the mind pool of a Crescent Rasp or Capper Spineflap, although unfortunately it seems that I still have to hit them once with the pistol to finish them off, so I'm not sure it saves me any time.

I only make about 9-10 bones or hides from each, but since they're so easy to kill I can pretty much nail them as fast as the lair can dump them out.

baby gualamas give 113-127 experience per harvest. 20 units, about.

On naboo Fanned Rawls are great for hides/bones. Tatooine Bocatts are good.

Not sure what its like on your server but the Tatooine leathery hide on Eclipse is 999 quality.

And I know it says under the skills that you get more from creatures as you go up in the hunting tree but I have never found that to be the case. I am on hunting 3 now and I was at hunting 4 in beta and never noticed that happening. You need to take bigger things to get more at one time.

Go to Lok and kill a Kimo. I got over 150 bone in one kill....just don't go alone.
