Thread: Wilderness Survival XP by Camping
Let me get this straight, I can acquire xp in wilderness survival skills by deploying a camp and sitting in it for a long period of time? The longer I sit in it the more xp?
Thanks
Not so much how long you sit in the camp, but rather how many wounds the camp heals. From my own experience, it seems each wound healed equals 1% XP of the camps total. For example, if I set up a multi-camp (with a max XP of 800, although more is possible somehow as I've gotten 820 before) - and I stay in it long enough to heal 50 wound points, I'll get 400xp for the camp. If I stay in it long enough to heal 100+ wounds, I'll get the full 800.
Camps heal 10 wound points from each stat bar every 6 minutes or so, so by yourself you can get max XP from a camp by sitting in it, wounded, for about 18-20 minutes. So obviously if you have multiple wounded people in your camp, you can get max XP much, much quicker.
I don't claim this is exactly how the system works, but its a pretty good guidline if you're just looking to get XP gain.
From what I've seen, After a period of 20 minutes of idle sitting in a basic camp you will get the full max xp of 600... After a period of 20-30 minutes of idle sitting in a multi-person camp you will get the full max xp of 800... But, I believe the time required to recieve the full xp is decreased when there are more people or when there is healing going on.
This is just from what I've seen, I don't actually know how it works exactly.
Novice Medic is another one to help boost camp XP. I've taken all the novice skills except Brawler while I wait for Valcyn to come up, and today got deathblowed a couple of times by aggro critters who camped close enough for my corpse to be in their zone
