...Will that make it more difficult to gain in Exploration II?

Really, Im kinda confused as to how exactly XP is gained for Exploration (and Hunting too for that matter)

Im sure its real simple...can anybody clear this up for me?

The Exploration and Hunting skill trees share the same XP pool, Scouting XP. Currently the only activites that give Scouting XP (that I can remember.. don't have the game in front of me to verify) are harvesting hides/bones and (if it works) MaskScent.

Ahh, I see Thank you.

Something funny happened yesterday.

I had all the progress bars in all my Scout II skills maxed out (and then some over the top).

But after i learned Survival, Hunting, and trapping II, my Exploration progress bar went down to almost nothing. Whats up with that?

Exploration and Hunting both use Scouting xp. You trained Hunting and used all your scout xp. Therefore, you had no xp left to train exploration.

Hope that helps.

You get scout exp from harvesting creatures you've killed or by successfully using the Maskscent skill by moving close to aggressive creatures and not being detected. The amount of experience you get depnds on how powerful they are and you don't have to step on their toes to get it. Just get close enough so that they're on the mini-map in the lower left of your screen then move away again.

By the way if you're having trouble figuring out if the red triangles on your map are creatures or humanoid npc's (who have much higher agro ranges) face in the direction of the red triangles and hit the "Tab" key. This will cycle through the creatures/npc's in the direction you're facing.
