Thread: How are Scouts making money?
How are you guys making money besides missions. I can't seem to sell hides at any price and am at a loss to make some coin.
Cheers

Photo,
It's all trial and error. You need to figure out which missions pay the best based on travel time and difficulty. Also, if you know any smugglers, make a deal with them to be their exclusive meat provider. The Spice skill rank for smugglers requires a big ole' buttload of meat, and there will be a lot of smugglers begging for that once they get finished begging to open your locked containers.

The best thing i have found is to find someone who runs a store. Selling on the bazaar is very much hit and miss but if you are able to form a relationship with a tailor or an armorsmith then things can go really well. If you are doing missions and collecting the hide off of everything you kill then you should be able to make extra credits from a tailor. Let them set the buying price for your hide or just look around to see what everyone else is charging and offer it for a slight lower price. I generally just give my hides to my tailor nowdays but previously she was buying them off me for 3 credits per hide. It might not seem much but if you are constantly harvesting you will be surprised at how quickly your hides accumilate.
Nicely put Black. I have recently just started a scout, but I have already been doing minor destroy missions that 1) get me money, 2) get me hides/bones/meat, and 3) Camping to recover between missions. I don't think I've used a medical center yet.
Anyhow. I have already made friends with a small group of artisans who have a nice little town going north of Theed in Vaclyn galaxy. There's a weaponshop, armorshop, tailershop, medical supply center, and a food mart. Anyhow, they setup a vendor for offers only. They buy my meat, hides, and bones in 500 packs at 5 creds each. That's the standard bazaar price, but at least I know it will always be immediately bought on a daily basis. In turn, as a supplier, they give me extreme discounts on all my purchases.
Hopefully, more people get away from the bazaar and resort to interaction. Money is no longer an object. I have everything I need plus a surplus.
To sum up this long winded note, just explore for player towns and make friends. Hear someone selling advanced weapons or armor, ask if they have a shop around and if you could be a supplier.
