Somewhere along the line, I started getting 4 shots on critters while prone before they started coming after me. (I THINK the increase was with Exploration III, but can't swear for sure.) But when I use take cover, it's still 4 shots? I've also tried using maskscent along with take cover but there's absolutely no difference in how long it takes them to come after me. Anyone else notice this? Try 9 or 10 kills in a row WITH take cover, then try 9 or 10 without it. I'll bet you see very little difference at all.... Or is that just because of the relatively low level of camo I have?

I think /takecover only heightens your protection from ranged attacks. I'm not sure it was ever intended to protect you from detection (think about how the animation is implemented for one). In effect, I'm not sure what the DEVs were thinking with this one, since it is less harmful and more effective to simply go prone. It's always been that way, but I guess it just doesn't matter that much. Marksmen and riflemenshould probably be saying something about it in their forums, maybe something about it would change (needs a big decrease in the H/A/M costs).

Ahhhh - silly me. Thanks. I remember now that take cover is supposed to be used for ranged protection. Appreciate it.
