Thread: for you scout/rifleman types, what is the order in which you throw your traps
I just got traps 4 and would appreciate any advice.
I primarily using headshot 1/2 , big surprise
When soloing the large animals, I like to use the adhesive mesh. Again depending on the animal I use a sequence of trap headshot (x number of times) trap. The number of headshots is determined by the likelyhood of the animal breaking the root. So for a Tortur bull I would likely use trap headshot trap headshot trap .... (you get the idea) whereas a minor guf drolg would get trap shoot shoot shoot trap ..... as they seem to take longer to break the root.
keep in mind, every engagement is different and every player is different. There is no set piece tactic that will work every time. Your tactics need to vary depending on the situation, the terrian and the target.
Hope this helps. Good hunting.
Husk,
Generally, I start with an adhesive mesh, followed up by glow juice/glow wire and then a bone spur.
This is after the mind shot 2, and before the multiple head shot 3s. So the order is:
1.) Mindshot
2.) Mesh
3.) Glow juice
4.) Bone spur
5.) Head shot

I've been using the noise marker with a lot of success 125 XP from the trap. As a Carbineer, this is my sequence.
- Glow Juice - Bring down ranged defense.
- Action Shot 2 - Causes bleeding, possible to knock creature down.
- Noise maker - Adds +Stunned+ to creature
- Full Auto 2 - Massive amounts of damage usually 700-1400 damage to any one pool.
- Bone Spur - Extra damage.
Mostly use pistal, (I know Delta you claim the rifle is great) but I started and still sometimes use rifle. I have exptert rifle. I also have level 3 in ranged support, and you may do differently depending on it you have it.
I usually use aim headshot headshot, afther those two shots most creature will start to come after you. So now I through my traps. I used glow wire, adhesive mesh, and bone spur. in that order. If you use traps through the one that gives you the bonus for ranged fist.
Dont through your traps first, because nearly every creature comes after you as soon as the first trap hits. So if you volley 2 or 3 shots first, its all good.
Depending on the level of the creature I continue to trade off head shot 2-3 times with headshots.
Now I used warning shot after throwing the first three traps. This ususally send the creatures running away. Then you can shoot some more headshots when the creature gets close throw traps, and do warning shost again, they skitter off. When it works, I never get hit by them. I love it. And use those bone spurs and noise makers, work great with headshot
