Thread: a suggestion for hunting missions and a new skill...
ok so it's been echoed that there's a fundamental problem with some of the hunting missions. Sure I can make 5k while hunting nightspiders on naboo... but I've already killed thousands of them by now. And suddenly I can't find a blasted one! well... (I think this has been mentioned already my apologizes for not giving proper credit.) add a stalk command around hunting 3.
Essentially I think the easiest way to implement it would be as follows. once you hit hunting 3 you can activate you'restalking command. All this does is increase the possibility that either a mob, or individual creature will spawn on your current location (so long as you're outside a municipal area).I would also suggest that as this creature spawned, it would automatically aggro on you. The higher you're creature knowledge, the more likely it is that a creature will spawn at or around your combat level.
So if I have Hunting 4, I have a 40% chance of having a lvl 10 creature spawn in my vacinity. Of course there would be some other modifiers to determine if it happened at all, but you get the point.
P.S. Though I'm not a huge fan of CH as a battle profI'm curious how many scouts feel, as I do, that the novicelevel would be worth dabbling in, if we could pick up a hunting companion. I know right now it's not an option but I'd love to get my hands on a non-combat pet that could aid in my harvesting. Picture it... Rover Harvest Bone. Off Rover runs to pick up a harvest while I heal up a bit. sure it would reduce my XP and harvest quantities, but it'd add to the experience.
Funny you mention the hunting companion thing. Now don't tell Delta this....
I have always pictured a true scout to have an animal companion, that they have a close bond to and wander the wild with. Not nassasarily a mean attack animal, but some kind of companion, that if need be can help in taking something down.
I have toyed with the idea of getting novice CH to try this. The problem is, I don't think that would be good enough to get a creature I really like. Does anyone know about getting a pet from a CH?Can you command a pet to do anything? How do pets work for non CH? They spoke of this before that CH could sell animals as pets to other players. I have not seen any though.
