Thread: animal tracking suggestion
I've been thinking about what sorts of skills would make scouts more scout like and unique. Maybe this is a skill that could be bumped up to Ranger, but I was thinking about how to track animals in game for hunting purposes. Why not have tracking work like surveying, where the scout gets down on a knee, looks for tracks and, if successful, a waypoint is set. Each time you reach a way point, you do it again but with a chance of losing the trail. The higher the scout / ranger advances, the more dangerous the animal he / she would be capable of tracking down. Novice scouts can find the dumber animals like gnorts and master scouts or rangers would be capable of tracking down things like gnarlatches (sp?) or banthas, animals that would reap finer pelts than low level critters like gnorts. Really it wouldn't be a lot different than artisan surveying skills...

Darth, very good suggestion. Many Scouts and Rangers have made this suggestion, and Delta has been discussing it with the Scout/Ranger dev.
This is a new item to the game, and thus is likely on back burner to changing the problems with current stuff in game. Keep the ideas coming.
