Droop,

There are a number of reasons for my hatred, besides the fact that the Emperor says I should hate something because "my hate will make me powerful".

1.) They are whiny - There are 3 constants in the Universe. Death, Taxes, and CHs complaining about how long it takes to get Scout XP. Even before I was coorespondent, one of the things I was sure to see on the Scout boards was a CH posting a request for someone to tell him how to get Scouting XP "VERY FAST!!!!!!11111" It galled me- this was my favorite profession, what I had planned to do since September of last year, and these guys were racing through it like it was a waste of their time. It's one of the main reasons I wrote my first guide, which I believe landed me the correspondent slot. I figured if I wrote out how to do it, they'd shut up. It's mostly worked.

2.) They don't recognize how overpowered they are - Even before the nerf bat bloodied them, they still didn't understand how simply stupid it was for a novice to be able to control 3 gnarled rancors. And the use of pets in PvP turned me off on it quickly. This added to the massive lag a town full of pets gets, and you've got the start of an annoyed Briscy.

3.) They got even more whiny after the nerfing - While I recognize that getting nerfed sucks (I'm a rifleman with a T21, need I say more?) it's no reason to quit the game. The amount of complaining, flaming the dev posts, etc. that you see on their boards is a testament to their maturity. Oh well.

So that's what I don't like CHs.

It's not personal - well, maybe it is. I've gotten killed too many times by some **edit** Rebs gurreck in Theed to not want to stomp them into the ground.

But also keep in mind that this hatred is also really more of a running joke now than anything serious. I know they're an important part of the Universe, and the largest portion of my Scouting peeps are CHs. So don't flame me too hard here.

I getcha Delt. I figured it was something along those lines.

Whereas me, hitting novice CH was seriously something like endgame for me. All I want to do now is stand in street corners and play with my pets

I don't think I'm EVER going to go up in the skill trees anymore (well, as soon as I get /trick2, I'm done)..

Although I am a little surprised you haven't picked up CH to go get yourself one of those many Simians scattered on Yavin and Endor

Being a Scout first and a CH second, I'll speak my peice.

1.) I have not yet whined about pets. I think having a novice CH with 3 rancors is a bad idea and I was one of those guys lobbying for a change. The change they made was along the lines that I suggested. (I'm not saying that the DEV's used my idea, but it was very close)

2.) One way to beat a pet, is to take out the pet owner. You can outrun a pet and shoot and incap the owner. Once the CH is incapped, the pet stops attacking. Beleive me, I know! I for one only call my pets when I'm on the outskirts of town, never in a hospital and never in a cantina.

3.) I have yet to complain about any changes to the CH profession. I actually agree with some of them and will live with the rest.

I don't appreciate the stereotyping of all CH's. That's like saying all members of TR are arseholes. Wait.....that might be true......

Rongy,

Like I said - this is more tongue in cheek now than anything else.

Do me a favor. Scroll back through and take a look at some of the old, old Scout posts.

I can guarantee that the ones that are whiny, bitch about the rate of getting XP, beg for tips to get Scout XP fast, or are flame/troll bait come from CHs.

I've met a lot of CHs that I like - you and Xygar, and the others - so of course this stereotype isn't 100% accurate. But it wouldn't be a stereotype if it weren't true some of the time.

I kid, I kid.

me thinks I need to sic my fluffy bunny on you!

No problem Brisc. There are things in the game which I do not like. HAM costs on carbines, theme park contacts attacking you, etc.

I love the game, been playing solid for over 6 months now, if you count beta.

Ronge,

I love fluffy bunnies. They taste like chicken.

Speaking of chicken, Sanders (my pet Kaadu) has already grown up - which I'm impressed by. I'm going to have to figure out how to eat her really, really soon.

Master Scout first. CH second.

The CHlers that are left, are not the leet hazors that most dislike. The only things I complain about is the game *bugs* (disapearing pets, having to make a camp to recall them, horrid pathing etc etc...)

"Hi, everyone, my name is Ikoru and I'm a recovering Creature Handler-first Scout-second."

"Hi, Ikoru"

I've been so pleased with the scouting/ranger professions that being a CH is not as rewarding as before. I used to try to maximize my CH xp... now I hunt with a grand wrix and get only a handful (typically just one) CH xp per kill... because I need more bone! Hide! Meat!

Being a reader of the CH boards, although there aren't as many people demonstrating their munchkinism, there are still a large number who complain at being not strong enough or complain about the fixes (or, in their minds "nerfs") that have been implemented. I find the "increase max CL to over 70!" extremely uncreative and dull and I don't blame the developers for trying to find a better solution to make MCH an interesting goal.
