Different lairs and creatures act in different ways which is great but I am wondering if there are traps / tactics that can prevent all of them coming at you at once when you take a shot at only one of them.

Even if the others are out of your firing range they still seem to want to join the battle.

When using rifle, I use aim - gives me a bit of a delay before the attack actually goes through... If I see too many others jumping in, I'll peace out before the attack goes through. Doesn't work all the time, but one less critter can make the difference between life and death. And yeah, it's really interesting how these critters can sense me aiming at their buddies.

I hope they eventually fix the acknowledged bug where the friends of the creature you attack beeline straight to you when the creature you attacked still hasnt seen you.

There used to be a way to be more likely to single pull creatures by getting to about 100m away with one targeted and starting combat then Peacing.. You would often see one or two of the creatures friends come running, but usually not the whole pack, or the creature you targeted to begin with.

Zutan,

Uh. Actually, the bug is the other way around.

The one who "didn't see you" wasn't supposed to not see you. And that has been fixed on TC. So expect them all to start gnawing on you.

The best way I've found to stop the critters from hurting you when they "bring a friend" is for you to bring a bigger friend.

The way I do it is to unarm myself, slowly walk up to a animal, get into their aggro range and get them to chace you back to a safe spot and start shooting them there. Of course the animals cant be to close to each other to do this, but they can be fairly close to each other and you can just pull one. You can mess with them (staying outside their aggro range) and get them to move around to try to set them up. Does not work with animal scouts thou, they just run back and get their friends to beat you.
