Thread: This AXP thing is getting serious now...
I'm at 4/4/4/4 in the scout tree. The only thing keeping me from master is 240 apprentice points. Trouble is, now I've maxed out my scout points at 30k, so I'm not getting any more for harvesting, mask scent, etc. And that's after I picked up novice creature handler just to "burn through" some scout XP.
My problem is that I'm hardly ever in a city, and when I am, it's usually 4:00 a.m. EST, or some such weird hour. I gotta buckle down, hang out in a cantina or outside the Coronet starportand train some people so I can get back to being a scoutwithout wastingXP.
You must be doing something wrong. I have never ever not been maxed, or if newly promoted to Master, well on my way to maxing AXP pts. What do you have as a title over your head? Is your character searchable? Even spending zero time in cities I have maxed my AXP pts time after time just by being accessible. Not a flame, just wanting to know,if it saysNovice, change it, and make sure you are searchable.
Remember, it's anything you have that others want to learn, not just Scout, weapons skills count too. Merely being at the bank depositing stuff into my safety deposit box usually finds me teaching at least one person something. And no, I do not hog training. If anyone responds to a call, I back off. Fact is, I rarely respond to yells for training, instead letting someone else get he pts. And I don't train certain guilds, ever; nor will I train people I deem rude, but big deal, I am maxed.
Another way, go get xp in something you don't want/need. Find a friend doing the same thing, teach each other the basic skill, and dump it. Do this a few times. Had one person teach me surveying 5 times in a row, dumped it after each learn, she had a lot of AXP after that, I was only out artisan pts I was not gonna use again.
It's not hard, just take some playing time and be accessible. Be at the bank/starport area in Tyrena, one yell covers both places.

As a hint, i found a way to get a lot of apprenticeship XP
Basically, if you find a high lvl character, with scout or any other non-fully mastered base profession... he must be having a "surplus" of XP (as an example, i have only the Exploration line maxed to 3rd square, but i got like 20k of scouting.)
A friend of mine came to me and needed like 500 AXP. He just teached me the skill (hunting, since it's 1k Scouting XP). After i learned it, i just dropped the skill. Then i learned it again (to his surprise at first eheh), and again, and so on. ![]()
Hope this helps.
(BTW, if you are on Kauri, send me a tell, ill help ya out)
Maddo,
Let us know what server you're on, and we'll try and help.
You probably aren't doing anything WRONG, per se, but with such a small window of playing time, it makes sense.

its harder than standing around nowadays. the problem is that there is a time curve. i started out on wanderhome and reached my max in app points fast becasue i was ahead of eth curve for most folks learning skill. i recently started another character on bloodfin and teh majority it seems already have trained up a bit in general. This is even more so for scouting and marksmen which is all i have at the moment as i would like to be a BH. every city i go to i see people yelling to teach these skills for free. ive even offered money to train people but have gained little in the past week.....im on bloodfin now trying to get enough app points, im already at master marksmen level if i get the points and soon will be master scout. send me a tell if you can help, ill keep asking people and even offereing to pay.

I have "Explorer" over my head, and I am searchable, although I've never received an e-mail or tell asking for training that may have come from searching. I also have Helper turned on. I don't spam in the spatial channel that I am training, because I always find it annoying when others do that.
Last night, I spent about an hour in front of the Coronet starport, which on Lowca seems to be about the busiest spot in the galaxy. It's where I go when I am looking for training. I picked up 120 AXP, which is the most I've everearned in one night. I overheard a conversation between two guild mates where they were offering to let one train the other in skills they don't want to generate AXP. Turns out they were both maxed out in AXP, so they didn't need the help. So I asked one of the guys if I could do it, and he said yes. Very cool. So I trained him in some medic skills.
We've had this conversation before, so I won't belabor it, but it is definitely harder to get AXP now than it was in the month after launch. My other character is an artisan, which I started at launch, and he has always been maxed out in AXP. Also, AXP comes much easier when you have "master something" in the title over your head.
