Eck,

This is a hard question to answer, because I really don't know what you want to do in the game. The differences between Bounty Hunter and Ranger/Rifleman are akin to the differences between Artisan and Marksman.

So what do you like to do? Do you like PvP and lots of GCW fighting? If so, go for Bounty Hunter.

If you like hunting, being a secondary not primary fighter (until you hit Master Rifleman, at least), and grouping often, then go Ranger.

Let me know more of what you're looking for and I can offer better advice.

Well Delta pretty much hit it on the head. I don't know much about BH directly but IMO they are the master combat. Whether PvP or PvE. With master scout they are able to harvest, and thus have that as a source of income, as well as being a hired gun. You can solo with BH, and can rule in PvP, GCW stuff. You have a wider ranger of weapons at your disposal.

The ranger is more of a support class. If you like being hired to help a group or person track something, or lead a group on a hunt, then Ranger is for you. The Ranger can pop up the Field base for the large group to regroup and organize in. The traps make it easier for a group to bring something down. You are able to quickly crawl up and scout on something for them, and use camo kits to keep you and group safe from NPC and creatures. The ranger is the master of the wild and finding killing animals. Either grouped or solo. If you have rifleman, then one of the greatest things for solo play is /concealshot. With that and other ranger skills you can potentially take down creatures very much higher then you. Albiet slowly.

well i guess this is a good one for me i am rifleman (4/0/4/4) and ranger (4/3/4/4) and heres my experience.

what was said about rangers above is very true they are great support personel. ive said in other posts that they are the profession that no one wants to be but every one wants to be with heheh. tracking, great camps , camo kits for every planet, and foraging make the anger very useful. also as aranger you will find your need for money to be very low but your ability to get money very high( we should all be so lucky in rl)

about the only thing youll ever need to buy will be metals for traps and camp kits. if you got artisan skills you wont even need to by metal.

rifleman is the weapon equivilant to ranger. its not super powerful at first glance so its not the one with all the glory. if you proceed with rifleman take this advice .. for now ignore the concealment tree its worthless instead get snipe and countersnipe they increase your hit ability and defense ability respectively. also the rifleman is deceptively deadly use headshot 3 and mindshot 2 and your will do massive damage !!i use this combo and can usually 3-4 hit kill stormtroopers!! also keep in mind the flurry shot it causes dizzy . the biggest drawback to the rifleman is htat they are pretty much worthless in one on one pvp. in a group however you can really shine . in group pvp use these stratsgies.. dont engage enemies first intead toggle through the enemies as the fight progresses. when you find an enemy that has used alittle too much mind bar hit em with the head shot 3 and drain em!!! then as they lay 60m away hit em with snipershot ( from the lvl 4 sniper tree) and do a long range deathblow!!

dont get me wrong bh are powerful and they have a wide array of weapons but what they usually come down to in pvp is who gets the most shots off or whose weapon had best damage/speed... rifleman however takes a little more finesse and in my biased opinion skill.

sorry im rambling hope i answered some questions and be sure to look in the rifleman profession thread they have a really great moderator that gives you tons of helpful advice!!

spell check? punctuation? a jedi craves not these things!!
