I am almost a Master Scout, I am a Master Marksman. I am going to become a Bounty Hunter. I have all, but two boxes to complete. One is the Survival IV, the other is Master Scout. It took me two hours, just to get 7k xp, I think i misscounted, i think its less then that, likr 6 or 5k. The point is, it takes way to long to get XP, an if you build stuff for XP, it gives only 44XP. I think, for the general starting scouts and advanced, that survival xp should be atainable on how fast you want it, close to all other XP types you can gain how fast you want, this type, you cant. Who wants the Developers to change this to be more ataianable? This is a very erritating subject for those who can only play a couple of hours.

Guys,
You think it takes forever now? I did it in JULY. All you could do is camp.
Get a good crafting macro - or better yet, some friends - and you'll get through that camping XP pretty darn quick.

The hell with Macros, play the game.
Does anyone know how long a camp lasts if you a) are still at it? and b) if you are away from it?

"are still at it?"
About 51 minutes.
"if you are away from it?"
I haven't tried it for awhile, but disbanding is pretty fast if you leave the perimeter.

Listen to Delta.. I too had to master scout when the only xp was through camping. Luckily, by the time I got done with all the Ranger stuff except the wilderness line, you could make traps... course, the xp needed for frontiering 4 is like 80k.... yeah, that is a lot of traps you have to make, i sure as heck didn't!
Get in a group and plop the higher level camps. The xp will be rolling in.

If you group and go on a large hunt, popping down a camp whenever someone needs a heal, you'll get the XP in no time. Besides, your ENTIRE wilderness tree is less XP than the top box in ranger, ya whiny babies =)

I got one thing to say: Role-Playing Game!
If you are new to that word, know one common condition whether it's video game, paper and book game, or PBeM game: it takes a while to get whatyou want.
Of course you can always grind, but it will still take a while to get it. Some people take weeks to reach Master and they enjoy the journey and role-play their characters and are content. Others don't like it taking hours...

"how far does the perimiter go?"
Not far. Once you receive the "you have left the camp" message, you are outside the perimeter.

And from my own testing, it's about 60 seconds worth of "out of the camp" time before it autodisbands.

Drac,
This is something we've been requesting since day 1, and it's still on our list. At this time, foraging doesn't give XP.

Does foraging give survival xp? There are no in game messages saying it does, but I think it should. Personally I go through traps so quickly that I'm constantly crafting them. I fight, use up all my traps, camp to heal wounds, and make a bunch of traps and camping kits. I've been getting survival xp at a steady click. Then again I solo almost exclusively.
