Thread: /harvest really random?
Have you hugged your bothan today? I was under the impression that just doing
/harvest
would randomely choose from whatever is possible to harvest from the selected animal. I'd like to get about equal amounts of bone/meat/hide without having to manually cycle through 3 buttons if possible.
Did a test one day. Seems that while most of the animals have bones, it's the meat and hides that are the biggest variables. /harvest will more than likely take meat or hide over bone. No, it is not random. Actually surprized that you got any bone at all. In 25 random harvests, no bone at all.
I have 3 hotkeys, /harvest for bone, meat, hide... only two are keyed now, and they are meat and hide. Bone is everywhere.

I've found that using the harvest function on the radial only results in a hide or meat harvest - never a bone. So if you're going for bone, use the /harvest bone command in your macro.
When I am out hunting seriously, I always have three hotkeys - one for bone, one for meat and one for hide - that way I can quickly grab whatever I'm looking for.
