What is with the Maskscent? I put it on and walk up to an animal and it may not have it's little ? above it's head but it takes off running anyway??

Also, Forage!!!! Come on, I haven't foraged anything, anywhere in like 3 days!

This char is fairly new, but sure seems like I didn't have trouble like this with my "Old" chars when they were newbies.

Getting pretty fed up. I'm getting to where I hate updates.

Could I pose the question -

Would you take off running, a tad bit startled, if someone with cold hands just all of a sudden grabbed your teats and started milking you? I thought so.

I have milked paralopes with and without them moving, same deal with humbabas and kahmurra (docile K give domesticated milke btw). I have milked animals with and without the "?" above their heads. Just follow the critter, it calms down and you can milk it.

Just take a few seconds to let the creature calm and it works fine.

This explains a lot. At master scout I rarely have problems like this. The only time I have consistent failures with mask scent is with stuff like krayts, which I never really expect to slip by undetected. They laugh at my traps also.
