Thread: Milking +Creature Harvesting based?
Thanks.
Mondo,
I've tested it at a couple levels on TC. It seems to be based on the critter, not your skill.

I too am sad to confess I have been milking critters.
I get as much as a novice scout, more or less. Rats.
I tested this with a friend with only novice scout. Each milked three paralopes, same time, same place, same lair. She was within 5 units of me. I got more, but 5 units is within the statistical variation ( I did pay attention when I took stats in school).
We moved on to humbabas, same deal. 2 babas per, one from each set of two. Again, while I got more, it was like 4 units. Babas give 3 times the milk paralopes do.
Oh, the time we each took to milk was the same, as clocked by us individually (something like 20 secs per animal, start to finish)
Maybe it was luck that I got more. No differences really.

On the first night of milking, I was out with a master ranger (I'm just a 4/0/4/0 scout, enough to keep CH now) and I outmilked him on some piket longhorn females. He got 90 units, I got 94.
I've also checked grouping with pets forany reduction in harvest on milk, and it doesn't seem to reduce the yield of milking. Which makes sense given the above, although it would be fun if you had a cat out and it mooches your milk harvest.
So the harvest rate does not seem to have any effect on how much you milk.
