I've found a spot providing Milk that's OQ 989 and Flavor of 980... anyone know what this should sell for?

Thanks.

Collect as much as you can before the resource shifts then go to your Galaxy's trade forum and announce that you have it for sale and give the OQ and Flavor. On our server the Chefs and Smiths usually get together and agree to a set price for the good stuff.

that is very high Q milk and flavor milk

chefs would need it for the blue milk buff (heals mind), and BE use it for Tranqs (aids in creature taming)

Tho honestly the market would be for milk sinc the OQ will lessen its filling. Grab as much as you can until it spawns, and don't settle for anythign els sthen 100 cpu. I sold milk with 2 800s and 1 900, for 100 cpu in a heartbeat.

Tho it might be better to trade it to a chef for some brandy, taht is what I do with all my milk

I'd start by offering you 100cpu if you were on Intrepid and would probably get initially outbid by other chefs up to about the 200cpu range. Just make sure you get a lot - I won't give a penny for any amount less than 5k, but at the 5k mark you'd have a million bucks.

So I take it I was wise to not take the 20 cpu that I was offered. LOL

Thanks all... great advice and I appreciate it VERY much!

I'm learning... slowly... but I'm learning. Thankfully, I knew enough NOT to take the offer of 20 cpu!

I went out and did a LOT of milking tonight... all from Humbabas! Ugh!

Got 7000 units... at 30 units average per critter. Yeah it took a bit. But what I didn't know is that if you milk a creature and move off to another... then after a few minutes go back to the original again... it produces more milk! I was under the impression that you could only milk an animal once. So I happened to stumble on an area that had 5 Humbaba lairs within sight of each other... in a rough circle. I swear there must have been over 50 humbabas walking around. So I went from one lair to the next in a circle all night gathering up the Milk! Worked VERY WELL.

Now if I can only find 4 or 5 groups of Sharnaff... and do the "round-about"... My night would be truly fruitful indeed!

oops... maybe I shouldn't be giving out my little secrets. Then again maybe I'm just a nOOb freak telling everyone something they already knew. LOL! If so, my apologies.

The reason you can walk away and come back is that the lair goes into statis when you move about 150 meters away. All the associated creatures despawn until someone comes back into range, thus refreshing milk, babies, scouts, etc.

Why would you want to kill it though if the milk will be replaced after a few seconds of running around?

I had a regular "dairy farm" going the other night... and if the quality is still good... I'll be doing it again tonight!

I B a milkin' fool!

Let the critters live and continue to work for you. <smile>

If some people didn't know, you can harvest milk just like you harvest meat now(at least in pub 9 you could). Go kill a piket and try it. Use the command /harvest milk after you kill it. It does not show up in the harvest resources menu though.

/agree. thats insane. Never seen or heard of milk that good on Bria, ever. I can sell just about any milk for 30cpu in stacks of 1k or more. So with those stats I'd start the bidding at 60cpu. If you don't get buyers, knock it down to 50cpu. But it depends on your servers economy too. Couldn't say.

A couplequick tips:

You can /harvest milk off a corpse after milking with the radial menu. Lower quantity than circling back around later, but much faster when on linear travels.

You can milk multiple creatures simultaneously IF you can get them to stand still long enough. I've gotten 3 at once, not sure what the limit is. This is good for hedging your bet. Milk the whole herd at once and, with luck, at least one creature will stay in range the whole time.

You can reapply mask scent if it breaks during a milk run, as long as you key the command BEFORE the next text message comes up.

You can milk and /sampledna at nearly the same time. Milk first and wait for the first "you continue" message comes up, key the /sampledna command. You'll finish milking just before the thing falls over dead. (Haven't tried this with /tame, but should work on the same principal.)

Finally, if(on Intrepid) you find yourself short-stacked with milk due to a resource shift, send me a e-mail. I'll be happy to consolidate with you if possible to get over the 5k mark.
