The title speaks for itself. I was wondering if on the Correspondents private boards if there was any talk as to when the documents are scheduled to be released?

Right after the professions 9 questions get done. Or the top five gets a look at. It probaly shouldnt have gotten mentioned because i dont truly think we will see them. And if we do it will be after they release the info on the combat balance sandbox and will be public anyway.

We're helping re-edit them now. I'm not 100% sure, but if I had to make a bet, it will probably be after JTL gets released, so that we don't confuse anyone with a whole bunch of new stuff flying at them at the same time. But that's just me speculating - we've not heard for sure at all yet.

I will let everyone know what's going on as soon as I possibly can.

I would imagine that most people could handle, even relish, several new things thrown at them at once.

I would imagine that the same people would then rip apart every sentence said and use it in arguments until the end of time. Good example of this is /track that was mentioned by holo last year. Us Rangers still talk about it.

Better to be kept in the dark seeing light when it hits test center. Then be shown false lights and realize to late we are heading towards a train

I've seen all of the drafts, but we've not seen any "final" stuff yet.

And I'm sincerely hoping that we get a Monkey Crafting tool in it.

Not really.

From a purely political perspective (reverting to RL for a minute) you want major ideas and changes - or the main thrust of your campaign - to be introduced into a vacuum - that way there is nothing competing with what you're doing in anyone's mind.

To throw every into the mindset of JTL and at the exactly same time start talking major upgrades to the entire game is just a recipe for disaster.

One message at a time. JTL, the Combat Upgrade. That's how I'd do it if I were the devs.

But again - we're still waiting to see the official timeline.

Hehehe, Squid. Not to mention the Profession Role document that was supposed to be released before the summit...

Brisc is probably right about the need for timing, but they should not have told us "in a week or two" either. We have already seen the results of what happens to such things in the CH forum and it is not pretty.

My one conspiracy theory is that they really do need people focusing on JtL so that when the documents arrive, people won't care about the content so much. Don't get me wrong, they may be what the game really needs, however I am betting people's initial reaction will cause them to foam at the mouth.

It's more about managing people's expectations.

People need to recognize exactly the scope of what's going to happen, how it's going to happen and why. And that needs to be tweaked because the Devs recognize as well as anyone else that they've got paper thin credability on a lot of these issues.

I told Dave White (Keldarin) at the Summit, that they ought to be prepared for the backlash - not that people won't like the changes, but that the overwhelming cry is going to be "Why the hell didn't you do this the first time?"
