Thread: Mask Scent vs Hunting Swarming Aggressive Creatures Issue

I noticed that there is a problem with masked scent when it is used in hunting a pack of swarming aggressive creatures. For example when I am firing away at a creature within a pack of swarming creatures with the masked scent on, the creature I am targeting won't notice me for a certain amount of time according to my camouflage level which is the whole point of masked scent. However I noticed that all of his herd will recognize me right away and attack me despite the fact that my masked scent is still in effect and the creature I am targeting and shooting at is still unaware of me. This situation does not make sense. I am curious as to whether this is a bug or a feature and whether this issue needs to be addressed. Any other scouts/ranger finds this issue to be concerning? Please speak up.

i havent seen this yet, because i dont tend to use maskscent much because it doesnt work properly. i think when they nerfed it they made a few boo boos and its just not that important on their task list to fix right now. i would hope this gets fixed in the future that yellow mobs dont automatically detect you.

were they red or yellow mobs that did this?

The issue of swarming has always been there, since beta, but I agree, it doesn't make sense. I notice though that blue con critters don't swarm, but white do.

A really annoying and weird bug is warping when you go prone. When I'm trying to set up for killing something, I'll run a bit to best range, then I like to immediately go prone. Trouble is, as soon as I hit the ground, I'll warp back to where I was 10 seconds earlier. I find if I wait 5-10 seconds, it doesn't happen.

I've also noticed the warping issue as well and have gotten killed a numerous thanks to that weird feature. I was worried at one point that it could be because my connection speed is low. Really glad to hear that the warping issue is not my connection's fault and it might actually be fixed someday.
