Hmm... Have you tried transfering it to your normal inventory first?

I have a backpack too, but haven't tried taking stuff out yet.

Yup, you can't directly use the items in containers. Very annoying.

Anyway, to answer your question, the radial menu for the backpack or whatever has an open option as you probably know. What you may have missed (as I did to begin with) is the extra option to 'open in a seperate window'. Once you have done this you can drag the stuff out of it and into your main inventory window.

Actually you can use some items in a backpack. I can use surveying tools both to find and sample while they're in the pack and I can make things when the crafting tools are in the pack "but" the materials I use in the crafting haveto be in the open inventory.

my backpacks are whacked. and i have a few gripes i wanna post about because its been bothering me for 3 weeks now.

1. when i open the packs, it opens in a very small window. so i resize it. when i close it and reopen it, IT GOES BACK TO THE SMALL SIZE!!!

2. i dont mind not being able to use resources out of it, moving them over to my inventory doesnt bother me at all. buti have yet to be able to sell anything from my packs.

3. this one is a general inventory issue. i am having the HARDEST time moving items around. when i select it, the radial menu pops up. when i try and grab it and move it quickly so the menu doesnt kick in, it either doesnt grab it at all, or it grabs the next item instead. WHY??? also, there is NO reason to have the inventory items spinning like they do. all that does is slow everything down because of all the extra screen movement. it was a cool idea by the devs, but it doesnt work in the real world. PLEASE for the love of God, CHANGE THIS!!!

4. i am having the worst time with picking up items and my inventory saying its full. ITS NOT FULL, theres sometimes 25% or more left and it still says its full. i understand maybe i cant pick up 300 units of a resource, but to not be able to pick up a piece of foraged fruit? what is that all about? i know this has been an issue for many people because ive seen it posted on here a lot of times.

the inventory in this game is the WORST setup ive ever seen in a game. its way too slow and having those radial menus just really screws things up. they should change all of the radial menus in the game to be right click only.
i understand that the issue with the spinning items may not be for everyone. it could be just my computer. but my computer blows the "recommended specs" out of the water. i even added an extra half gig of RAM to my computer last week, and it helped a bit, but not enough.

please devs, could you address the inventory issues?

I know this isnt really a scout issue but since I play a scout this is the board I read most. I got a backpack from a mob the other day and it works great holding items. I can sell items out of it just fine but when I try to use material out of it to make traps I get an error message. and for the life of me I cant figure out how to get items out of the backpack and back into my regular inventory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
