Thread: Pls dont remove all xp from maskscent

I've been reading other forums (like CH), and theres a big push to remove all xp from mask scent, and remove the timer.



Please dont do this. Note that most people wanting this no longer need scout xp. I still use maskscent, and get a decent bonus to xp when fighting aggro lairs. If you remove the xp completely, I have only one way to get my main class' xp, which is horrible.



I dont see it as a bad change in the skill anyway. Against even mobs, it usually works and stays on for quite a while for me. Red mobs shut it off, sure, but unless I'm a CH trying to tame a mob I shouldn't be able to anyway, this isn't an issue. And it seems rather lame to be able to spam it on constantly anyhow.



I know we scouts/rangers dont like the timer, but really, the xp you could get from it before was way out of control. It's not a nerf as much as fixing something that was way out of proportion to other classes.



Just, please dont remove all the xp and the timer!

all I know is that my maskscent has yet to work since the timer element was added and it was "fixed"

Mask Scent still works y'all. You just have to know when to use it. No longer can we just runa round with it up all the time, I only put mine up when I see red dots on the screen. Then I just run around them I get about maybe 50M close to them and I get experience for it. I was on Corellia today and just decided to run from Coronet to Bela Vista and I racked around near 3k in scouting exp just from using mask scent. It's still possible to get good exp from it and it pads the harvesting exp quite nicely. All in all I got about 7k exp from both of them, and I wasn't even attacking everything either mind you or it would've been a lot high. But I was getting mask scent exp in amounts of 59-128, so it wasn't too bad. And yes whena greture knocks it down its annoying but it is only a minute and thats not reall that long, however much I don't like it.

my maskscent still works alot..u just need explore 3 or up for it to well decently

I'm using mask scent to gain scout xp on Lok and I understand the timer but is that too long. I know that people used it right after they were discovered but would 15-30 sec. make more sense. Masksense definetly works cause I got withing 30m of a white con aggro on Lok and it din't even turn it's head. I'm getting good xp from it but waiting for a min. everytime after a non-aggro 'detects' you isn't fun. I heard it proposed elsewhere on the boards but one solution is give exploration 4 the ability to use something like advanced mask scent that makes you 'invisible' to all aggros but didn't give any xp. This would give the scout an active role in groups cause tagging along just to set camps isn't too exciting, and thet's the only scout skill thats useful in a group. There are multiple solutions but the current mask scent situation is a kinda dissipointing.

i still think it should be left the way it is now.


rangers and CH should get the maskscent the way it was before. no timer. no yellow mobs detecting no matter what.


this skill is one of the most powerful skills in the game when used properly and should be reserved for the higher class professions.

I hate the fact that non aggressive animals will unmask you constantly. Most of the time I encounter an aggressive beast in the middle of a group of non aggressive. The non aggressive unmask me and the aggressive then hunts me down. I think non aggressive animals should not have any effect on mask scent or they should give exp for it as well.

You want to leave it the way it is for the non-elite? Shrug, might as well take it away from the scout classall together in that case. The way it currently works, I won't miss it a bit.
