Yoda,
If you're in a group, go for Banthas, Kimogilas, Fambaas or Snorbals.
If you are solo, finda lairthat spawns a lot of critters (like Nightspiders) and just keep hitting them. It's all about your XP over time.
Read my Rangering guide for more info (it'll help you, even if you are going CH).

I have to agree with Delta, of course he is the master in more ways then one. I have been on Tat for a while now and Bantha's are the best xp, either grouped or not. As long as you dont get the agro onese like feral, they are easy enough to take down solo, they are so slow. EVen easier if you have the P. dart trap that slows things down. My latest hunting ground, which I have taken groups to several times now, is south west corner of Tat. The bantha spawn there constantly. Sometimes lairs, which give you about 50 of them. The occasional bantha matriarch, or bull bantha are great xp for a group.
On Corellia, the rogue bagerest, I think thats how its spelled, are good xp also, for both group or solo.
Follow Deltas guide definitely! I took his advice and went hunting with a group of 6, including myself, on Dathomir the other night and pulled down 50k of scouting xp. Very nice. The first time I went to Dathomir I got 30k xp in one night - an excellent Master Ranger and a Creature Handler chaperoned me *grin* Definitely the best way if you want *quick* xp. Thanks for the excellent advice Delta! /wookieehug

Here's a quick 'fast scouting xp' guide for ya
Step 1: Buy a ticket to a high end planet. The higher the better! Go to Endor for good times!
Step 2: Clone!!
Step 3: Hit maskscent
Step 4: Run around with mouse hovering over burst run
Step 5: Pray. A lot. Seriously.
Disclaimer : The use of this quick guide will get you killed over and over again. I take no responsibility for aforementioned deaths
Pick the closest city to your home city, take two missions for something that's easy and spawns a lot of MObs from the lair that is in the direction of the next closest city. After taking care of you missions walk to the other city, kill everything you see (unless its a Plains Stalker, in that case run). For my last 6K of scouting XP to make master scout I walked from Moenia to Deeja Peak. I made 6K scouting in less than 2 hours and had fun doing it. Much more fun than milking Nightspider lairs because I never knew what to expect. I eventually ran into a hermit spider lair that spawned 5 hermit spiders, over 20 sentry hermit spiders, 2 guardsmen and queen. After that battle was won I stumbled upon a few horned and spike krevols. Finally, in a bit of irony, (after soling 10+ kaduus, 2 peko pekos, 25+ hermit spiders and8 krevols) I killed a gnort to put me over the edge on Hunting IV. ![]()
While I got the majority of my scouting using Delta's suggested method of quick easy kills, I had more fun walking from city to city. I felt like I had to think on my toes more and use more of my marksmen and scouting skills (warning shot, mask scent, stances, DoT attacks, etc).
Kaadu, Kaadu, Kaadu....It tastes like Chicken.

I agree as well. Kaadu are great. Although, if you're low on the Marksmen tree and the Explore branch you may want to stay clear. For me Kaadu would react very slowly when I was using maskscent. I could usually kill them all without one even charging at me if I found a grassy patch and laid prone with my laser rifle. The one or two times they did charge at me they never brought a friend with them. If you have Trapping IV the adhesive mesh trap works nice on them as well. Bleed them first and take your shots at them, if they charge through a AM trap at them. It'll stall for a couple of seconds, causing DoT damage and you can get a few more shots in on them.
Easy money.
Gustavef,
I like the chicken comment. ![]()
I got one of my guildies who is a Master CH (See? I let a CH in my guild.
) to get me a Kaadu, and I named him "Sanders".
