Thread: Explorer Mission Help
So I have been playing for a few weeks now, doing mostly delivery missions and hunting on the outskirts of the citys, and I am ready to move up to the more challenging missions. I have taken a few destroy missions form the regular mission terminals and had success with them but the pay stinks so I thought I would move up to the destroy missions at the Explorer terminals. So last night I get 2 missions; one to kill 45 corellian butterfly workers and another to kill 45 vynocks. I get a waypoint to the location of where I’m supposed to go and when I get there, I can’t find any corellian butterfly workers or vynocks to kill. Whats up with that? Am I supposed to wander around until I stumble across a group of them? If so, doesn’t that make a waypoint pointless. I mean the regular missions send you right to the objective, why don’t the explorer missions do the same? Has anyone else come across this? I would appreciate any help and advice you could give.
Thanks,
Jarv,
The waypoints that you get with the missions is completly useless, so ignore it. And yes, you are supposed to run around until you kill enough of the creatures. The best way thatI have found to do explorer missions, is pick up one explorer mission, and pick up a destroy mission from the regular mission terminals for the same type of creature. That way they are easier to find if you dont have /areatrack. You also have to be careful what type of the creature you get the mission for. Ifyou get a mission for diseased vrelts, killing normal vrelts would not count toward the creature count. Hope this helps.

Another little tip: You may take an explorer mission, and find that it requires you to kill, say, 30 low level creatures. All well and good, but then you open the mission terminal and you don't see any missions at all with that type of creature lair as the target.
This happened to me when I first started. What I didn't know at the time was that the mission terminals, explorer and every other kind, check to see what weapon you have equipped. The higher level the weapon (I think it goes off damage stats), the harder the mission. What I had done was to accept an Explorer mission with my weapon unequipped. Then, when I hit the general mission terminal for destroy missions, I had it equipped. Therefore, it didn't give me any target lairs that matched my Explore mission (they were all for higher level creature). When I unequipped my weapon and refreshed the destroy mission list, every mission was for my Explore mission creature type.
Hope this was clear ![]()
