I love fishing in mmorpgs.

But I feel it should be concentrated into a Profession, Scouts/Rangers are the perfect profession for this. I think fishing would be more in place if it is a scout or ranger skill.

Maybe you think there's no need for that and of course this is nothing I am annoyed about, it's just a thought and would add more "importance" to fishing.

Maybe I don't make my self fully clear, but I hope you understand my point.

Tried fishing for the first time last night as I wanted to take a look at some of the new methods for gaining survivial XP. I can now say that I'd rather walk over broken glass than to ever pull out that fishing pole again. I know that artisans complain about getting repetitive stress injuries for all of the clicking that they have to do but the fishing implementation that was done in this game has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Anybody around Theed on Starsider want to buy a fishing pole for cheap?

It takes me about (3) clicks to pull a fish in and I was able to get about 100 units of fish resource in a 15-20 minute span (and XP). Of course I agree... it is not for everybody.

I love fishing. I could care less about the XP (I'm only going for CH for the time being, unless they make full Scout a prereq for Politician or something), but to me it's one of the most relaxing aspects of the game.

Fishing is very relaxing if your into it. Sorta like RL I suppose. The interface could be better though. I'm trying to fish whenever possible now. It looks cool (like meditate for TKA) and working with different bait is a bit of a challenge. Not sure what to do with my fish, other than fillet 'em and display 'em...

I think they should have a fisherman profession. They can have a bait branch and when you reach bait IV you can change your title to Master... errr... well maybe not.
