The other day I was doing some Jabba missions and I got one where I had to escort one of his buddies. No problem. I killed the 3 or 4 baddies around the guy and looted all of them. One of them was carrying a etrified avian egg". It looks more like some kind of crystal in some stone holder. I would have posted a pic, but Im at work at the moment. Anyone have any idea about what this is?

Haven't heard of it - it may be a unique junk item, or it may be a quest item. You may want to post over in your galaxy's board too.

Although I appreciate any light being shined on this question, it doesn't matter now. I was going to show a friend in game what I found, but I couldn't find it. It wasn't anywhere in my inventory. I checked my backpack and the satchel within (thinking i probably put it in there to free up room in my inventory), but it wasn't anywhere to be seen. Now I am really confused. Maybe it was just a fluke bug. I don't remember seeing it in the inventory of the guys I looted and it just showed up in my inventory. Then it just disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. At least I know what to expect now, a message saying "You suddenly feel yourself attuned to the Force. Your Force Sensitive character has been unlocked!" Five minutes later, "No...sorry....our bad. Forget the whole thing....just keep grinding for BH". Oh well, thanks anyways.

It means something to someone. The sticky post at the top of the scout page that lists drops lists petrified eggs.

No clue what they're for...

This is a quest item, that the chef, who gave you the mission, takes from you when you return to him. He uses it in some dish he's preparing for Jabba. As far as I have been able to tell, there is nothing any PC can do with this item.

Ah.... Had this happen to me to. I'd previously gotten the one you get from the Lady Valarian mission. Found another one as part of a loot. Just like yours it later disappeared. I thought it might be because of a crash now I no better...
