Thread: Harvesting Grind
Ok, I know, I'm going to hear it for this. But.......oh I am so sick of killing and harvesting. Dummy me keeps getting turned around on when I am something like--I consider myself Hunting 4 AS I am going through it. So I was All excited to be done with this awful killing spree and could train my first Cu pa--YEA !!!!!! NOT----My brother sadly reminds me that I still have that horrible 17,500!!!!!!!!!!! MORE to kill and harvest?!!!!
Geez, there has GOT to be a better way of doing this. I would rather craft VET PAKS than kill. I know it is part of the CH requirements, but change them. Not everyone who truly, really wants to be a CH likes to kill. That is one reason I came to this game from all the other "Kill Crazy" games was so I could do something beneficial, fun, interesting and challenging Without having to kill, kill, kill.
Now, I am seriously considering quitting because it took everything I had just to make it through that last 15K OF which I did Explore 4 first so that MASK SCENT would make up a whole lot of the killing exp, Which, of course, they just HAD to change and now is worth about nothing--helps a tiny bit is all. I just hate grinding so bad, whether it is crafting or killing. I just want to BE something and enjoy doing & being it is all. My Artisan-soon (maybe) to be Architect is also the grind, but I can live with that. May take me forever, but I can live with it; but not all this killing. I bought a Probot--24k cr--just so it could kill, but dang, it is still just SO much of the killing. 2 Trees requiring the Exact same thing. How about only ONE tree requiring harvesting and the other something else??
Ok, I'm done--you can tear me to pieces now, lol.
Oh, I know someone will say be another profession, so, to that I respond. There are only 2 professions I really wanted to do and the Number One of those was Creature Handler.
Ok, done again ![]()
I doubt this will help you out due to your mind frame, but make friends with a marksman or a brawler. Let them do the killing and you just harvest, plus maybe throw some traps to help out. Also you can make camps for them to rest. Chances are they'll go for it. I kind of like harvesting because it makes even the creatures you can't loot worth killing and artisans pay top credits for bone and hides.
Huntress,
We've all got to pay our dues. There were times I was sitting in camp, scratching my infected Gnort bites, and wishing for more monkey making opportunities, wondering why in the hellI decided to go with this god-forsaken profession that's slowly driving me crazy.
Then I made Master Scout. And I got to train my first student to Master Scout. Then I took down a Fambaa in a group. Then I went to Lok and survived on my own for half an hour. Then I went to Dathomir and survived for 10 minutes on my own. And each time I put a notch in the butt of my old Laser Rifle and smiled. That's what being a Scout is all about.
So don't fret - you'll be siccing your three Rancors on us poor riflemen in no time. And you'll look back on all the harvesting and fighting and be proud of your accomplishment.
B
Huntress, how about changing from creature handler to Bio engineer that way you can MAKE animals and not need to kill them.
that may be more towards your calling.
It really isn't so bad, I had to get to tier 4 in hunt and explore, then I had to get another 10,000 scout exp to get to ranger, then another 17,500 to get to CH, and now as a ranger I got another 20,000 to get wayfariing and hunting to tier 1 and now I'm getting 20,000 in both of those. Yes there is a lot of killing involved, and it does take time, but just getting to CH isn't THAT bad, you just gotta bite the bullet for a few days and do a lot of kiling. Once your a CH you don't have to ever get scout exp again, so no worries, you'll be there soon. Just stick it out.
i know that this wont help you a lot, but, if you want to get scouting over with, grab some buddies (highly combat skilled buddies) and head to endor. there's some bigass birds there that give 900-1000 xp per harvest.
Happy hunting!
