Get missions on a newbie planet and just keep working always use as many traps as you can on a creature. At about trapping 2 go to Dant and hunt hurtons everything seems to stick on them and I flew threw 3 and 4

Huurtons are all over Dantooine, really easy to find.

I would not attempt to solo them yet. Hey, I don't like to solo them now. They have some resists and are mean and they DB. Howlers usually don't bring a friend, and was what we would hunt usually.

Get a group of people who need XP. We would go in groups of 4, include a medic too.

One set of missions (8) would about level someone every time.

No, no. You're doing it the hard way. Get up to the level where you get glow traps. Find some place with a nice big non-deathblow creature. Throw glow traps at it over and over, and watch the trapping XP flood in.

I was doing it the hard way on Tattooine when a Master Scout showed me this. Hours of grinding trapping, and it looked like maybe a day more. After a short speeder ride up to Kenobi's place and some dewbacks, and maybe 20 minutes of throwing traps, I had Trapping 4 finished. Try it and see...

Along with using all the traps you can make, try a traping macro, the one I wrote would throw every trap I could make at the creature, and then I'd start shooting. Using this, Trapping was the first branch I had level IV in.

yeah, the key is that you can use every different type of trap you can make on each creature. So if you can make 4 types of traps, you can get four times the experience on each creatures, as long as you have enough traps crafted. I found trapping to go faster than the other areas, especially since scouting is used for 2 disciplines. Oh, and if a trap fails, you can throw it again for another chance of success.

Lantern Birds on Endor...

They are easy to take out and give good xp (average about 250 or so). You can throw ten traps before you need to worry about actually fighting the things. They are pack, but they tend to spend themselves out.

They do have resists (to energy If I remember right)...so be mindful of what weapon you have equipped.
