What is the formula for calculating how much is harvested from a creature? is the harvest bonus a percentage increase? +100 is 100% giving you twice as much ?
Woudl be interesting to know how much a Novice scout, hunting 4, Master range 0-0-4-0 Ranger harvest from same creature

You know, with the number of geeks we have playing this game, I'm surprised no one has worked this out yet.
If anyone has the actual formual deciphered, let us know.

Well there is a variable to take into account which is the creatures health when harvesting. A novice scout getting a "Fat and Healthy" is a lot higher then a "Skinny"

Seems it is near impossible to work out, as the amount harvested varies from creature to creature even within a lair. Then you have to factor in the grouping reduction, racial modifiers if any... bleah on math. If you had two players equal in all things except harvesting ability harvest enough creatures and compare each and every harvest, maybe you could figure it out. But as creatures can be fat, medium, or scrawny and sickly all in one lair... what a pain in the butt. Even two healthy creatures from the same lair can drop differing amounts, depending on who knows what?
Novice scouts get some, Master Rangers get a lot, but not enough to make the skill points spent worth it.
I do know that the percentage on veghash is the number that your harvesting ability goes up. If you have 30% veghash, you don't get 30% more resources, your harvesting skill goes up 30% - so if you are at 100 you max out at 125, not including racial modifiers. A 50% harvester then would get the same amounts as a 65% (50% + (30%*50%)) harvester.
Droids on the other hand work off your harvest ability. Anything less than 100% is giving stuff away, as that's (droid % * your ability). Yes, a 105% droid harvests more than you do, but not nearly as much as a Master Ranger. The amount for a novice scout is an extra 5% of his harvesting amount. About 1 unit most of the time - whoop de doo. Even pumping veghash doesn't help much.

You could always run a tally on a grouped pair harvesting the same creatures with different skill levels. You could also ballpark it using Veghash and a harvesting +100 or so droid (which stack). Also, I'm pretty sure droids add, not multiply, or if they do multiply, it's by (100 + rating) / 100 - my +30 droid made a difference, and the +100 made a large difference when hunting Talus Avian recently, with Hunting 4 and Veghash.

Well, on the "uncertainty" principle, I think the devs love to throw in a 5% random factor on all of their equations. Even when you're maxed out, there's a 5% failure chance on everything, so I would assume that this is what is causing the randomness in harvesting critters off the same lair.
That might be something to take into account.
