Gentlemen

After reading the manual and the Novice Scout and Advanced Scout ( ThanksAll who provied the great material) I am still not clear ifI should be doing this on a regualr basis. Presently at Novice Scout 1001, ( real novice ) and working my way through. Most times I am out in the sticks nowhere near a cloning facility. Is it worth it to run back to town just to clone before I get that 2nd level in Scouting. Have not died yet ( been lucky I guess ) so not really sure the advantage / disadvantage of Cloning. Also, does insurance cover everything in my inventory or just what I have equiped, and what about stuff in the Safety Deposit ?

Much thanks to all for the help so far, new to MMO but getting hooked ...

Cheers

You'd be surprised - even when you're out in the sticks you're usually near a player city, and they usually have cloners. It's best to clone yourself on the same planet whereever you happen to be hunting - doing it once is fine. You can leave the planet and come back without it messing anything up, but if you plan on doing any hunting there, caution is best, and I'd suggest cloning.

Like I said in the guide, cloning saves you time - whenever you clone in a facility that you've not stored your pattern with, you'll take wounds on all your base stats and 100 BF. That takes time to cure off, and if you've died a few times, you'll be pretty vulnerable, even if you're buffed (and the BF will affect the levels of your buffs). It's just a good habit to get into to clone whenever you shuttle into an area you plan on hunting in. You also take decay on any uninsured items in your inventory.

When you decay, it only affects your non-weapon items - your armor, clothing, etc. - that have condition. It covers everything you've got in your inventory, because that's what decays. It doesn't cover stuff in your houses, on your player ship, in your bank, on a storage droid, or anything else that's not physically on your character.

I currently am cloned in one place. My home town.

I hunt 90% of the time on Endor. If I die (rare) I clone, get black line disease, then head to Coronet. I sit in the cantina and watch AFk dancers or more likely friends grinding dancer/musician XP. I do not tip AFK people, nor do I tip friends - heal yes, tip no. Then I go sit in the medcenter, where I either heal myself or let someone grinding XP do it. Or, I pop camp and sit and make more traps, healing at the same time (the best option, triple xp).

It's all about time. If you have time, don't clone. If you don't have time, clone.

I'm the same way. I'm cloned at my home town in Iron City, Corellia and on the rare occasions, in the outposts closests to the larger hunting grounds. Cloning on Dath is a must!

And I don't tip AFK entertainers anymore either. If I'm going to be here grinding, why shouldn't they. Same with docs. Nothing pisses me off more than to come into a med center all beat to crap with half black lines and wait because someone would rather get their xp against a tumbling Doc than someone who needs it.

One reason why I got 1111 medic so I can do it myself in my camps. Only come into cities for trade, travel and beer.

No, as long as you've cloned once you're good. Cloning only affects what your health bars look like when you clone and have nothing to do with your skills or xp. You will not lose any skills if you die and unless you're a jedi will not lose any xp either.

Remember to insure as well as clone. For a lot of us insurance is more important then cloning since the 5% durability hit on all items could get expensive
