Having a hard time negotiating and understanding macros. Can anyone please recommend good macros for scouting? Such as harvesting macros, "zooming" macros (mask, mount, dismount, mask, etc) and any others? Are there macros for crafting or auto targeting? Please help, would appreciate it much.
Thanks

Check my From Novice to Master guide - lots of macros in there.

Hey, you know, why don't you send me the $15 a month you spend and I can play the game for you. Will send you updates on how well "you" are doing. Screenies too.
You only need 3 macros for this profession -
/lootall
/harvest (insert hide, meat, bone)
You use anything else, go be a freaking BH. They macro their entire profession except for Investigation, which is why there are so few Master BoobHeads.
yes, for those of you waiting, here is the line ------
MACROS ARE FOR MORONS
JB
be a freaking shame you actually had to play the game and hit buttons while paying attention

Thanks, friend. While I appreciate your kind offer, I think I'll continue to play the game myself. Sorry if asking for a few short-cuts to save my mouse-finger a crimp put your panties in such a bunch. Thanks to a harvest droid and some helpful macros, I'm now able to cut down on some of the downtime and really just enjoy the game, while still making my way up the skill tree. Bounty Hunter sounds great, btw. But I have other trees to climb. Anyway, thanks for not being uptight or over-reactionary. It's nice to know not all players are raging comic-book-guys with little or no tolerance for other players who might play the game differently. Happy hunting and see you in the galaxy. May the force and yada yada.
ps
Congrats on having gotten every badge in the game, mastering every profession and being a jedi, and all without using your shortcut keys. You are truly devoted, and an inspiration.

Delta,
Thanks much - your entire guide was a real help in getting me up that tree. I had a blast and am already approaching master scout while also picking up CH skills. Still being a new player, it can be hard to wrap your head around aspects of the game. Your guide was really clear and helpful. People like you make interaction with other players fun. Thanks for being so helpful.

Hey Danus, not too sound too mean, but I agree with JB here. a few macros are good (such as the shortkey ones to loot and harvest and a /dismount;/area;/mount to scour the area while on a bike...but what I think JB is talking about is the AFK or craft macros that detract from the game. If your finger are really getting all that cramped when you play...I suggest buying a better keyboard.
You can play any way you like, but that doesn't mean that I can't have an opinion on how you play. When they announced the credit dupe scam, did you think something to yourself about what cheaters those guys were? I did. I'm entitled to evaluate how you play.
BTW, JB is a good guy, albeit one with strong opinions. He's the best guy I know to talk to about strategies and such. He's the only guy I know who goes out and solos Rancors with two incomplete proffessions (Pistoleer and Ranger). So while he comes off harsh, just open up and realize that what he's saying is true-- the game is made to be played by the person. If you were asking about macros such as the loot and harvest ones, more power to you, but more often than not people ask about grinding macros--and like JB, I think grinding macros are for morons.

Thanks all for your replies - was only asking about a few macros to make scout duties such as harvesting and forraging easier, don't see anything wrong with a shortcut key as opposed to point and click, though I guess there are some who are looking to shortcut the entire game. Your friend sounds like a nice guy, but first impressions go a long way and his email was unnecessarily harsh and sarcastic. I appreciate everyone else having been constructive with their answers and opinions.

Geeze -
I even gave you the macro for harvesting.
And it loots. As some animals do drop loot.
Do not use it on NPCs for looting, it then will not work on animals until you reboot.
