Please tell me there is another way to apprentice other than training other people. I have been trying for a week to try people and getting no where. I have all lvls in the tree and all I need is apprentice to become master. Anyone?.......................................

Sav,

I wish I could tell you there was another way...

...but there isn't.

There are two things you can do, though.

1.) Stand near the front of starports or major traffic areas and announce what you can train. Conversely, always have your ears and eyes open for people asking for training. This works best in the most populated cities on the starter worlds. Also have /invite as a quickbar item, so you can grab someone as soon as they ask for training. Always have the title of what you want to train in displayed so it is searchable

2.) Find a friend with lots of XP for a skill they don't want to train. Train them, have them surrender the skill, let them do it again. I helped a friend out by letting them train me in entertainer healing about four times before i ran out of XP.

Good luck!

Though I'm still a small distance from Master Scout (mostly do to Survival,) I do have some decent Apprentice XP. Right now, I'll wait till I see someone with the Novice Scout tag on their name and I'll just tell them outright... "send me a tell when you need training, I'll do it for free AND give you some high level traps/advice, and tell other scouts the same"... (it gives you the oppurtunity to gain some notoriety for your actions!)

Nothin better then gettin a tell saying "You're the guy offering free training on Rori? where are you?" That said I usually build a camp and have them meet me there... why not score some survival XP while you're waiting to train, and training.

I wish I could remember who offered the info to me, but I tell everyone "why spend the creds when people will train you for the XP."

P.S. Those looking for training... don't beg for it, help with some missions, offer some hides, do something to make being trained worth while. Don't stand in the middle of town shouting I NEED TRAINING. Some of the higher level folk hate giving away what they spent thousands of creds on.

Me... I got most of it for free... mostly by insisting/joining on missions. Why not gain xp while gaining training?

I'd train for free, but can't seem to find anyone who wants or needs training. I need 40 apprentice points for master scout.

So, I stand around at the starport, in the medical center, in the cantina, looking for novice above people's heads and ask if they want to be trained. No dice. It's frustrating and I generally give up after 30 minutes in disgust to hunt or run missions.

On the other hand, I will be slightly ahead of the curve in scouting experience when I do finally get master scout, to making novice ranger will be that much faster.

Teach someone explore or hunt 1 twice or ranged support 1 in marksman for those ranged guys who arent master marksman. Both require very little actual XP cost to train in. Ranger 1 is 300 combat xp and the scout skill is low as well.

This is how most people do there app XP

Scouts and Rangers actually charge for training? Unheard of. IMHO we're a small community anyways and I've never charged anyone for training and consequently, have never been charged for training.

If someone comes out of their way to train me after I requested it, I'll tip them for their time.

I have never charged, nor been charged for training. However, I always see people yelling "...will train for free." This is presumably to drive home the fact that NPC trainers do charge you.

I understand "how" to train and how much, it's getting people who need it that seems to be the problem. I'll keep trying, of course.

find some new players, take them on a few hunts.

I got enough AP points to master two professions simply by taking a pair of new players, and goingon a hunt. After about an hour i had to teach them a bunch of differentweapon skills, and showed them the ways of the scout. (at which point i got even more for teaching scout skills.....hehehh).

heck, if you're really in the stunt for app points.

find someone that has a couple of extra skill points open (enough to get novice scout and the hunting line is prime). And is really at a lackage of funds.

Tell him you'll pay him a certain amount, and the amount for a buffto go on a hunt with you.

The catch is that he has to allow you to train him in hunting (or any other skill you might know that they would normally not use), and you get anything that he harvests.

This doesn't sound like a good idea until you realize:

  • you havean extra playerhunting with you (even if it is a small amount you can still get more with an extra person)

  • you're getting the app you needed

  • you can sell said harvests later

  • if all goes wrong, your buddy is a good decoy.

I finally found some people in the medical center who not only helped out, but finally convinced me to join a guild. They were very pleasant and helpful. Immediately after healing them and teaching what I could, I trained in master scout, then they set me up in teh guild. Most excellent.

Why guilds work. I can drop Novice medic and have someone train me (de) ranged support a lot. Unless I just came back from the village, I have a ton of combat xp most of the time. Prior to "glowy" I can't remember the number of times I let people train me for free (guildies only) over and over and over and ... I also have been an AP whore, train me and pay me ... worked for me. Standing around the starport and seeing someone paying 1000 per level trained - money in my pocket.

Now if the guy was a scout and rebel, I did it for free. Scout and Imp, he paid. Part of the game - sorry.

send me an email ortell in-game if you still need to get AP. If you have medic 1000 at least (a very helpful skill to have either way)I'll gladly let you train me to get the AP (i've got medic 1000. I'd be happy to help an aspiring fellow scout on Ahazi. Maybe I'll see ya around...

What I did was basically the same as everyone else, except I had quite an advantage as I had skills from several other professions as well as scout. I basically traiend someone evey time I grouped, Marksman was the most popular. I would also invite people to go hunting with me, get a group of four or so, hunt, then camp and ofer to train them in anythign I could. I got about 100 or so AP this way in one try- it sped up the process considerably.
