Read your trade forums and you should see the patterns. Or even post a "Scout for hire : What to hunt" and you would be suprised by the reponses. In general Leather hide, wooly hide high OQ/SR. Herbivore and Avian meat with high OQ/PE/DR. And general meet for BE's to make additives with

Find a tailor who needs hides and arrange a set price for hides. No, not some great wooley hide with 1000 SR and OQ of 998 (armorsmiths drool waiting on this) but regular everyday stuff. You might even get clothing discounts or free clothes out of the deal. They always need Tatooine wooley and Naboo scaley. Architects need Endor wooley.

Find a BE who has vendors. They always need meat, any meat, more meat, any kinds of meat. One on my server will buy any herbie for 10cpu, any domestic for 10cpu, anything else for 3 cpu (including hides and bone). Pays the bills and adds up over time. No, he doesn't get the really great stuff for that price, just the everyday stuff.

Recently on my server, the doctors were paying 250cpu for Lok avian. Be real, a monkey can gather Lok avian all day and never get hurt. I dumped 3 million creds worth on a couple, took the money and ran. The spawn came in on a Friday... by Monday the price was down to 100 cpu max, most paying 50cpu. Talk about your gluts and oversupply. Some of my friends made more, some made less, but we all made some serious creds for a few hours hunting at the most. Morale of the story, get in, get a bunch, get it sold quick before the price drops.

Never ever never take contracts for stuff that is a pain to harvest. Tat avian comes to mind - you like killing nunas? Only thing on Tatooine that drops avian, at what 8-12 units per kill?? Most avian is tough to find in quantity.

I only hunt for the high paying stuff when I know I can get in, go solo, get a bunch, and get out and sell it. Other than that, I sell to my usual people and make a steady stream of creds.

Tat Nuna at master ranger is 8. Lok avian was one of the places i honed my unbuffed fighting skills. As well a good place to play with Ranger Areatracking. My wife, the Doctor/BE, was quite pleased with the hauls i got from Lok. I would have never guessed Lok to be the easiest planet to get avian meat. I always thought that honor went to Naboo.

The other people you might want to make friends with are architects. There orders wont be often or large. But you will get the occasional call for Dath Leather or some other materials they need for an order.

you know. i found a little trick to harvesting mass quantities of small critters.

this only has worked for meas apistoleer. (though i'm sure rifleman can do the same with more time involved)

build up a droid with a combat module (only a single one, and the worst that you can get it.try to get the DE to have a few failures, and get the worst resources you can find). Plant some good armor modules in there to keep em from being dented all to hell. and ifyou have room get some autorepair modules too).

Find a lair of a winged/nonwinged critter. When you get ready toharvestlair, kill everything that is around it and harvest their bodies.

Send the droid to attack the lair, and sit back whlieit either shoots the bolt of lightning to shock the crap out of it, or punches it with that hammer thingie it has

The ideal thing is to have the droid's damage so low that he is barely denting it.

As the droid starts pounding on the lair, Let the lair spawnsattack your droid (good boy), and watch as a bout 20 of these buggers start squaking around.

I like to give em a couple of seconds, snap off some cool kill line, and then send a fanshot toward the entire group.

If you timed this right, about 20 or so critters will have fallen to the ground as cooling corpses.

Run around to all of the corpses, harvest, rinse, and repeat. you'll get about 100resources in quick succession.

I know this doesn't resovled the issue of having to run around to each corpse to harvest, but hey, at least you don't have to spam attack over and over, and this is a GREAT tip for those starting scouts.....
