Well, I know this isn't a "Scout" topic, but I know I most liely won't get flamed here, and I know that my fellowscouts are usually very helpful. Plus I can recognize the names :-D

Anyways, I am trying to form a pilot guild for freelancers on Eclipse, and it doesn't seem like I am taht great an advertiser, as I haven;t gotten any responses really. If anyone knows any unguilded Eclipsian Freelancers or has any advertising tips, I would really appreciate it.

Here's the best tip: Don't advertise.

You really want to make some friends who are unguilded or who aren't happy with their current guild. Use them as your core. Get the guild started that way - spamming and advertising for members is a sure way to get a bunch of folks who either want a guild for the sake of having one, or who are antisocial and have gotten kicked from a bunch.

The best way to get the ball rolling is a group of friends. From there, things will spitball.

Well, for starters I would at least use the pilot forums. But for most of the missions in the higher ranking pilot skills tier 3 and most of teir 4 you require more then yourself to complete these missions. Who do you fly with ask them if they want to join a pilots guild mind you I am a pilot and been through all 3 and being guilded would last for me freelance especily for about a week and then I would have no further use for a pilot guild and would likly move on to a guild that is more well rounded and took in a couple of other professions. If you opened your guild up to all thee factions that may get a better response because even though you are doing different things when everyone in guild reaches master there are then some really fun PvP options. It all depends on where you want this guild to lead and what you want to do with it. Myself I am in my current guild because we cover land and space combat. For the PvPers there are members that are into that. We also except imps, rebels and neutrals. It allows us all to play in the larger game and we can have a lot of fun out in space or on the ground wth PvP battles. Good luck with your freelance guild but I would find it to limiting to my play style there are days I want to be in space and there are days I want to participated in the ground game PVE for me but PvP for others.

Well, first off, I got my good friend Booschwacca to join, and he was th efirst person I met in SWG, so I made him Captain automatically. Then, another friend, Scaalbac, a rich newb who recieved a one million credit donation his first day in game, signed onto the guild and will most likely be helping out with finances quitea bit. He doesn;t have JTL yet, but considering the possible funding I chose to overlook this small problem and designate him as "Ground Crew" until he gets teh expansion into space.

And, in response to th epotser above:

Well the idea is that there are already a ton of guilds for the two factions, and guilds that accept all members really detract from the game and the GCW, IMHO. I have allowed covert members offactionsto join, stating that "Covert members are the equivalent of neautrals with a faction slant" and are not true members of the faction. We aren't there just to Master Freelancer- that is just the part you have to do before you can really have fun. We also have been doing a lot of roleplaying, and being a pirate can be a lot of fun.

And as for teh ground game, I have already taken a few of the newer guys out hunting Bynare (sp?) Pirates on our baseworld, Talus, a few times, under the roleplaying pretense of turf wars. It is actually a lot of fun- we also took random Rebel and Imperial missions, declared Rebel, killed a bunch of stromtroopers, and when we didn't get any good loot off of them, proceeded to get Imperial Faction up and go off to kill some rebels. We got really good loot off of some of them, so we are declared covert Imperials now. I wandered off to a nice little areaat the edge ofTalus, put a camp up and slept off the TEF, and as far as the rest of the guild knows, I am still a neautral pirate.

It is all, in the end, for people who want to switch around their faction and don't want to be locked into a guild, while at the same time want to keep up a roleplaying atmosphere and have fun smuggling, pirating, and getting rich of fof the misfortunes of others. SO, taht is the idea behind the guild.

Also, I did post an add in the pilot forum, but it ddin't get much of a response. I just come to the scout forum to post random stuff because I know the people around here, and now that JB has to keep up corespondent appearance (LOL, j/k JB) I was fairly certain I would not be flamed or told to go away. Scouts and Rangers, as it turns out, are some of the nicest players in SWG, but commandoes and smugglers are pretty cool too. Just not as cool.
