Thread: Two Updates Ferocity (Finally!) and the Big Update
Guys,
Some information I have for you.
First, the Scout dev and I had a long conversation this afternoon and I found out what the deal is with "ferocity". In his own words:
"Ferocity is an index that measures whether a creature will aggro right away or not."
He is going to check the equations for me to flesh that out a bit. But when thinking about it, it makes sense. The creatures that aggro most often, do have higher ferocities - check this sometime when a Singing Mountain Clan Rancor Tamer incaps you on Dathomir. The higher the ferocity, the faster they are going to latch on to you. So while we wait for a more detailed answer (he got called away to work on a hot fix), that should slack a bit of the thirst for information about "examine".
The second thing was a bit of news buried on the Dev tracker in a thread about the Monthly story. The big update that I was hoping would be ready by the end of this week is now anticipated early next week. So hopefully- barring anymore unforeseen issues (I sure wish I was on Dath last night!) - we should see some of our changes up there very quickly.
Thanks for your patience guys - I know it can be frustrating, but this is an incremental process. I want this stuff to happen just as fast (sometimes even faster, because I want to see if some of my ideas will work.
) as you do.

Cool! Next week, most excellant. Mwuhahaha...
I don't suppose you had the chance to ask him about the "assisting" info in examine, before he had to run?
Droopu,
The devs tried to fix the Baz Nitches-give-lots-of-cash problem (I'd call it an exploit, but I don't consider it to be).
What resulted was that none of the mission terminals worked, meaning that if you didn't have a ticket to get off world, you were stuck there. In addition, all of the creatures refused to fight, and would attack if they were attacked. So you could walk up to a Nightsisters clan meeting, slap the head witch in the face and she'd look at you blankly. Some people made good XP that night, but it was (according to my contact) extremely boring.
Borak,
What thread was that?

They were complaining about how their correspondent was not representing the community.
Seems to me he/she made some big mistakes. So, I was telling them to come here and see it done right.
Not a$$ kissing here. I don't say something nice often so don't get used to it. ![]()
Thanks, keep the info coming!!
I mentioned in another Profession thread if they wanted to see how a correspondent should work check out the scout correspodent.
Yup... that Ferocity info from the dev would jive with what we discussed about 2 weeks ago. =D

You get an official "Attaboy" from me for figuring this out without having to ask the teacher, like I did.
