how do you get rid of a mission

i went to the destroy mission waypoint after it updated and there was nothing there and now i cant get rid of it

Depends on the type of mission. An NPC mission you would just destroy the waypoint. A mission from a mission terminal, you would click on details and select "abort mission".

This really doesn't have to do with Scouting though - be sure to check the general boards for info too.
