Anyone have specific suppliers of steel? I am looking for some to equip my phenacine dart tipsbut have not been able to find any at the bazaars I have been at lately. I believe I need some as well for the adhesive traps.

Also, I am assuming the resource has to be steel and cannot be iron, aluminum, etc. Can anyone confirm that for me?

Nope - any metal can be used. I use aluminum 90% of the time, because one of my guildies has a harvester for it outside the hall and I can get it whenever I run out.

If you don't mind getting novice Artisan, you can get a mineral survey tool and sample for your own steel. It works for me and I sell exess on the bazaar.

Another option is to use 15 skill credit points and pick up novice artisan. Find someone to make or buy a mineral survey device from and when u set down to use a camp, survey and find a metal type thats of high qty in the area, then sample away while your recovering from wounds. I can usually get 50-100 units of metal per every 15 or so minutes in camp. I have been doing this since I took up camping and now probably have more Copper, Aluminum, etc then Ill use up for some time. When you get to point in your skill selection just sell back Artisan and worry about finding your metal supplier then.

As the guys said, having novice artisan is a good thing - not only can you get the metal you need, you can also get the polymer.

But some of us - me and others who are further along - don't have the skill points left, so we are reliant on others. Oh well.

Not only will you be in need of metals but Polymer is also gonna be a big pain if you can't survey.

The Adhesive Mesh trap uses it and it's such a cool trap and since you can only craft stacks of 2 eachyou'll be going through Polymer like crazy.
