I just started a week ago, I don't get alot of time to play each day and have found out that i spend alot of time waiting for my health factor to regenerate after each kill. Personally I would like to be killing the rest of the animals around, I just went and trained as A combat medic to go along with my scout/rifleman, now i am able to take care of my minor hurts and bruises in 1/4 of the time!! I will surely get rid of this later when i travel up the scale but for now it's an absolute blessing.

Although in the beggining I found some diffuculity using this CM, I didn't relize at firstI had to click on my-self for it to actually work on me. I asked several people and they had no clue as to what my promblem was. Also I am still not able to use some of the features, when i try to heal wound i get a message that: Invalid Medicine? I have no medicine so I don't fully understand this. I find that I need two types of material to build stem packs inorganic and organic. Which I will have to find out what inorganic materials i need to buy. Tis tough to learn all this stuff, but I am having a blast learning.

A great scout once told me that: A wisemonkey never monkeys with another monkeys monkey.

Cig,

You can also not have anything targeted and it will default to you.

As for the other questions - i'm not 100% sure. Check with the Combat Medic folks and see if they can give you any tips.

For me, I never monkey around with another monkey's monkey. I prefer to make my own monkeys

Any inorganic material can be used to make stimpacks, AFAIK anyway. I use steel and hides or bones to make them. I've also gotten the invalid medicine when trying to heal another player. One way around that it seems is to have a stimpack set on the toolbar and then just hit the quick key for it.

I got really lucky on getting inorganics. I bought a backpack off a player'svendor one time that had a whole boatload of stuff in it, metals, gems, a crate of shirts. Not sure if they realized they'd left stuff in the pack when they put the pack on for sale, but I sure have been glad to get it all.

Another way to get some is to buy novice artisan, make some survey devices then go find your own resources. Just get a bunch stockpiled then drop the artisan if you choose.

Srae,

Inside scout joke.

When I wrote my first "developer" email, I wanted them to add more "money making opportunities" for Scouts, as we only had two real ways of getting cash.

Well, I had a bit of a typo. One time it came out "monkey making opportunities".

The boys picked it up, and now it is the stuff of legend. It'll be on tombstone.

I'm also proud that I'm the only Correspondent who's typos make it into people's sig files.

I screwed up.

I picked up medic (just novice) to shorten my downtime while playing.. And of course, what that did was kill my Survival xp

Now I'm top of all tiers with another 20k to grind in survival.

Before I picked up medic, I would set up a camp to heal, pick up a book and just leave the game alone for 15 mintues. Now, I'll set up the camp, heal myself, and 2 minutes later, realise that I really am ready to go, but that I'm going to waste the camp xp.

Sigh.

Viva le monkey.

If your still using combat medic at all, the easiest way to heal yourself is to have a macro, with the command.
/heal self
Just make sure you have stimpacks

I have all sorts of lower level medic crap and love it. Using Heath and Wound A's on myself or on others in my camp absolutely bumps my survival xp. I also (kinda late in the game, actually) just got Entertainer...why the hell not, 15 points I can reclaim when I need them, and 100 creds? Worth it. Now technically I'm totally self sufficient. The stuff I can't medpack I /tendwound, and then just dance my mind damage away.

Doing all that healing, even on yourself, takes not all that much time and without question adds to camp points.
