Thread: A good way to make scout xp?
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a good way to make scout xp, my problem is that i only have like 600 hp, and my gun skill isent high.. I need the scout xp to be a BE....?
So if any of u have some tips ill be very glad.. ![]()
Well there are a couple of things that you could do. If you don't want to fight try fishing. Your other option is scent mask. Neither one of these options will get you to level IV in your lifetime however. You are going to have to fight for your XP. Trapping is a non-brainer skill that will help you fight and stay alive. Open up your fight by launching a trap or two. Use a rifle, since it allows you to keep your distance from the target. And start small.
You could "hire" a group. Basically form a group , it is best to fill it with non-scouts but that is pretty hard to do. Then tell the group upfront that you want to purchase the harvesting rights. Set a price and go to it.
Jumbo,
Fishing doesn't give Scout XP. It will give survival (hopefully) down the road. Unless there are things in the new patch that even I don't know about.
Wong,
In general, the best way to make the Scout XP fast is to just hit as many lower level creatures as you can and harvest all of them. Mask scent for a lower level Scout is going to be more frustrating than anything else, also you should have a better chance to make XP with it then pre-patch.
There's no "quick" way to power through the Scouting trees. You just gotta get out there and hunt. I know that working through a starter profession to get to the one you really want to do is a pain, but try and enjoy the time you spend out hunting, and you'll enjoy the game more.
Oh - good choice on going BE. Saves me from having to make fun of you for being a CH. ![]()

There are a couple of spots I've found where there are high numbers of nests. I'll go to the first nest and kill all the spawned creatures, skinning/deboning them. Then I'll walk over to the second nest and kill all the spawned creatures there, doing the same. After the third nest, I can sometimes go back to the first and find a new set of spawned creatures, without having to damage the nest.
I'll typically get two missions in the general direction of these spots. So, I get a bit of pocket change from the nests that are my missions and lots of scouting xp from the creatures.
I can't wait until I finish my survival IV xp (thank you thank you thank you Delta for your wonderful suggestions on how to get the most out of my campsites), so that I can get Master Scout and begin using my dearth of scouting xp as a Novice Ranger.
(Delta, please ignore the sig below. Tee hee hee.)
