Ok, here's a noob question, how do I find out the type of damage that a mob does? Or is it all kinetic for non-NPC creatures?

Aucob,

If he's smacking you, it's kinetic.

Once you get high enough in Scout and Ranger you can use /examine to determine the different attacks, and those can sometimes tell you what he's doing to you.

But generally, if it's chewing, biting, stomping, slapping or hitting you - it's kinetic.

Thanks for the reply, Brisc. If you are looking for more work, someday it would be nice to see what new things you can see through the /examine function at each level in Scout and Ranger.

Hi -

Check out the Ranger forum. There should be a sticky that tells what specific things you can see at what levels using examine. If not, do a search - I know I have seen several posts about this.

At Master Ranger you can see pretty much everything the creature has - special attacks if any, what kind of damage and the amount, armor, type of meat and hide, speed of attacks, resists if any, percentage chance to hit, if he will DB, level, ferocity... and that's all off the top of my head.

The DB stat is probably the most important to me, no armor and I solo a lot.
