Yo Yo Yo!! Ok peeps.. This is for all the new guys and girls who are looking for a way to get some mad fast Exploration and Hunting XP. As you may or may not know, Exploration and Hunting share scouting experience. Here is what you do. When starting out with the Scouting profession, learn Exploration II as soon and as quickly as possible. Once Exploration II is learned,, you will have the ability called Mask Scent. What do I do with this you might ask??? Well I will tell you..

Go to an area where you know there are a whole bunch of incredibly hard monsters.. (i.e. Narglatch Cave, Veermok Cave, Endor, Dantooine and Dothmir.) When you arrive, put mask scent on and watch your map. When you see an enemy on your player map (in the bottom left corner of your screen) that is red in color, just run by it. You will receive scouting xp for each (red) monster you pass. Now.. you are asking.. what happens if I am detected or it wears off?? Here is what I do. If I get the message that the maskscent has worn off or I have been detected, I stop immediately wherever I am and simply put it back on. There may be some times where you will be jumped and killed, but do not fear.. just clone and head back out. I was doing this on Dothmir and Dantooine and received Exploration III and IV in under 2 hours received anywhere from 50 to 300 scouting xp in no time.

This works and do not let anyone else tell you otherwise. This is what scouts do and that is why it is so effective. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you all and Good Hunting!! Oh yeah!! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

This may not be the best strategy, now that death causesall of your stufftodegrade by5% or 1% (if insured). You'll be naked pretty quick.

But otherwise, it's a legitimate strategy.

This I agree with. I sent this message out before noticing the patch download with decay. However, I was on Dothmir and Dantooine last night doing the same thing and did not die once, so it is possible to have it work to your advantage. Thank you for your input. For the records and from what you said, anyone who does it need to be careful! haha.. Thanks again.

Yup.. if I am detected and stop right away... I rarely ever get attacked. Thanks for the input

I did likewise on Yavin IV while hunting, always kept maskscent on and I maxed out quickly. If a creature breaks maskscent and they're >40m away, they won't attack period.

i used this method on endor and within 4 hours i had gained around 27k xp. i just made a waypoint to other end of the planet, ran towards the arrow, and only strayed off if i saw some red dots on the radar, or if i saw a nest. some creatures would give me 180 xp!

Yup.. it works and some monsters give you the HOOK-UP! haha..

I too did the same thing. I went to yavin4 and kept pulling agro mission in the same direction. I would go out there to spawn the mission, then abort them and come back and pull two more. I did this until the entire area was filled with red agros. Then just ran around with maskscent earning thousands of xp. I did get detected quite a bit but all I had to do was run a certain distance from the mob, so he would not attack me, then maskscent again and continue.

As far as I know, there is a window of opportunity between the time you are detected and the time you are attacked/stalked. A few seconds I think. Just get out of there asap and you should be ok.

This is way to easy to get XP for both scout and ranger so I suspect it will be nerfed in one way or another before too long.

It may be nerfed in the future, but might as well milk it for what it is worth now. I personally do not see how they can nerf it, because using Mask Scent which is a scouting ability should give you "scouting xp". Doing away with that, makes it pretty boring. oh well.

They aren't going to nerf it - they already did before, and nerfed it back for us. It's here to stay. Mask scent is now as balanced as its going to be.

So this will definatly work? im at exploration 4 just started, and hunting 3 about half way through, and on Naboo i tend to get my mask scent disrupted alot running near those Scnapaht things (big monkeys?) and the flying soldier thingamys. Also what would you experts recommend, training hunting up to 4 1st? or exploration to finish then working on hunting 3+4? ty for your time + advice .

This does work - but you've got to patient.

I recommend going up and doing Exploration first - then going up the hunting tree. Read more about my reasoning in the From Novice to Master guide.

It works real well. It suspect you would want to do the same thing for Ranger as well. Go up the Wayfaring tree to get camo then deal with the tracking tree.

I was running around Yavin 4 tonight for about 2 hours, give or take, and I got about 40,000+ xp.
