I using mask scent to gain exp points (even after the nerf).

Should I train in exploration 4 first or Hunting 3 and 4 ?

I'm worried that if I do exploration 4 first then I wont get any more exp. using masked scent.

I was at the same point you are now yesterday . . . Do I train Exploration IV or Hunting IV, dilema, dilema 8)

I went Exploration IV . . . why ? Because I felt it would be harder now with the nerf in place to gain exp soley based on /maskscent. So I trained in Exploration IV, now I am halfway thru Hunting IV.

I play on a average of 4 hours a day and I solo. I have seen no hiderance in my ability to gain Hunting exp. My /maskscent still fails 75% of the time, it doesn't matter if I come across blues, yellows or reds. I still fail 75% of the time.

Sadly the best place I have found to use /maskscent is on Gnort warrens. I just put up /maskscent, then kneel and start the slaughter . . . they cannot find me (or attack me) and my /maskscent usually drops after I have wiped out 20 or so Gnorts.

I took Hunting 4 first, I find both hunting and exploration skill went up quite fast regardless and I've never had maskscent work but then again I can count the times I've attempted to use it on one hand. Now I'm finished both hunting and exploration and on the last level for the other two. To be honest as soon as my weapon skills get up there I'm going to unlearn every scout skill except explore.

even after the nerf I was able to make 8k exp in about 40 min usining just mask scent on the planet Lok.

Pick up Exploration IV. Aside from maskscent, the bonuses to your burst run and your ability to move quickly over difficult terrain will be worth more to you than additional knowledge of creatures or a slightly higher level of harvesting.
