Hi all,

Im working my way up along the Scout/Marksman lines. To become more self sufficient I need a form of healing ability. Do i have to pick up novice medic to use purchased stimpacks? Also, anyone craft there own stimpacks? If so, how do you do it. I'm a newb

You need to be a Novice Medic to make stimpacks and taking Novice Artisan so you can survey and sample for the inorganic materials you need would be a good idea (yes it costs a lot of skill points to do this but what else have you got to spend them on when you're starting out ). Once you have the 10 organic and 10 inorganic untis you need, open up your Generic Crafting Tool and go to the Chemical tab. If you've trained for Novice medic the schematic for Stimpack A wil be there and you can make them just like you make your camp sets and traps.

I just picked up Novice Medic, to make the stimpacks when killing downtime in camps, and for the inorganics required to make them I buy the cheapest big quantity of any inorganic material I can find on the bazaar. This has worked pretty well for me.

Hi,

I have novice medic so that i can use stimpacks in the field.

Making your own stimpacks is a COMPLETE waste of time!

Just go into any hospital and ask the players working on their Doctor profession if they will sell you Stimpacks in bulk. I give the doctor a travel pack and a day later he gives it back to me with 50 Stimpack-B's. They generally charge me 50-150cr/stimpack. Honestly, I can make alot more runing a few destroy missions than I could save by making my own.

ALWAYS get them to make you Stimpack -B's. Novice Medic can use both Stim A and B so get the better ones. I get up to 350 per heal from the high quality Stimpack-B's that I use.

The point is: Doctors can make MUCH better Stimpacks than you'll ever be able to make and they need to grind them out in order to raise their skills. Would you take Droid Engineer just to learn to make your own Probots? Heck no, just go buy one!

If your fighting MUCH tougher creatures and 350/heal isn't enough, just sit in a cantina and heal the dancers to get medical exp. Then put it into the Pharmacology line of the medic profession until you have enough skill to use Stimpack-C's or put it into the First aid line of skills which increase the amount you can heal on each attempt.
