I dread when a good creature harvest shows up on a starter planet. The creature levels tend to be low and some times certain resource types are rare. For example, the best avain meat on my server awhile back was on Rori. That meant the best critter I could find in a reasonible amount of time that dropped avian meat was rasps, at a whomping 10 units of meat per creature, and that is with 3 skill boxes into ranger harvest. That meant I took two rasp mission at a time, both 1000+ meters out, and collected between 50-100 units of meat per mission. I think I managed to collect 2k meat before giving up in furstration. The doctor I was gathering for was ecstatic to get that much, but honestly, that amount did not go very far for her.

Sorry, I don't mean to jump your thread, but how do you find out about the creature harvest? I mean how do you know what planet is going to be the good planet for harvesting?

There's no way to know without killing something with each type of resource on each planet and examining the results. If you have enough scouts on your friends list or are in a large PA, you can probably get a pretty good idea in a relatively short amount of time after a resource shift. If not, you're in for a lot of travel

Rori Is from what i have noted to be a hard planet for avian meat.

What I would suggest is the following.

Kill everything thing at lair, 1 shot it, Wait for more to spawn but don't shoot at lair. Walk away from it and shoot something else about 150-160 m away. Why, it should cause the lair to heal back up and creatures respawn.

Remeber you are there to get meat not Credits.

Some times the lair will poof and your out of luck. its a gamble.

I'm a firm believer in smaller is better for harvesting numbers. 5 rasps vs 1 kaadu, the amount of time it takes to kill 5 rasps is much less than 1 kaadu yet i can get 55-60 avian meat from the rasps, and 35-40 from a kaadu.

Scout xp doesn't matter to me, neither does combat/weapon xp. I'm there to harvest and get paid for, DO what you can do to get by with the min amount of effort on your part.
