Thread: Creature to-hit bonus
Whatis this? it is in the scout line of skills and it says "Improved chance of hitting creatures, for normal ranged attacks"
Is it just me or is this total BS? Why is it only RANGED attacks then get a to hit bonus? Anyone know more?
I'll apologize in advance if this has already been brought up and discussed, and if so, just point me to the thread and I'll stop posting here...
My qualm with this bonus is, why does it only affect ranged attacks? If you get better at aiming at the creature from a distance and hitting specific parts (as per the description of the bonus), wouldn't it be only natural that'd you'd be just as good up close and personal with the creature?'
I'm going TKA/Ranger (a popular build I've noticed, didn't read these boards before I decided though, heh) and that creature to-hit is completely useless to me. Perhaps it's just another way the devs are trying to stifle how many melee people there are, heh. And don't get me started on the ranged support line being requisites for SL and CM, that's for another board.
Tald,
This is an issue that the Rangers are bringing up. I hope that it will be addressed to include Ranged and Melee attacks.
So, I can't give you more of an answer than the Devs would. "We're working on it."

A big second here - all the neglected melee types have a problem with this discrimination! ![]()
As a Master Scout & Swordsman, I feel a major skill bonus is just wasted, and there is no logical reason for it. This one seems like a no-brainer to fix.
"This has been brought up previously and is listed in the "State of the Profession" Ibelieve in Nrass' signature if I'm not mistaken. I believe both melee and trap to hit are listed as requests."
Yeah, what alphaforge said. ![]()
You can read the last posted version of the State of the Profession in the thread at the top of the Ranger forum.

Actually the trap to hit idea is not on the list... I will add it. ![]()
